it most definately is the crank shaft sensor. same exact prob i had. it costs about 60 bucks and 3 minutes to replace yourself. one bolt holds it into the transmission bell housing and one connector wire. very simple fix. call off the wrecker. just have plenty of ratchet extensions available i had to go in from behind the transfer case to reach the bolt but it was still pretty simple to install.

What all have you checked as initial steps? Have you checked the fuel filter as first and foremost step and also Is the check engine light ON?

94 grand cherokee cutsoff going down the road then won't start until it sets for a while

When it won't start someone will need to find out if you are dealing with a no-spark or no-fuel problem to proceed.
If the check engine light is on you should get the computer scanned for trouble codes.

Will not start

If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking at the times when it won't start, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. It's likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

Ran out of gas in a 2001 jeep cherokee limited 4.7 awd now it wont crank is it the fuel pump or is there a relay or reset

Not aware of any re-set on Jeeps. But you said it won't crank? Starter is not working? Please clarify.
If it won't crank over from the starter, your problem is in the start circuit, and not affected by fuel pump operation. So, please reply.

94 Cherokee wpuld quit while going down the road, now it won't start at all.

If it is cranking over and has fuel going to the injectors, the crank sensor may be at fault.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Sport it just won't start. It cranks, that's it. It was running fine yesterday.

If it was running yesterday and only cranks this morning you need to determine which you are missing - spark or fuel. The spark is easy - pull a plug and let it spark to the frame. while cranking. If you have spark then you have to start checking the fuel system.

There is no spark coming from the coil of my 95 jeep grand cherokee. I have the 4.0L 6-Cylinder. Can you help me figure out what's wrong. We have changed the coil and the jeep still won't start.

You will need to test the magnetic pickup that is in the distributor, if you have a voltmeter or a 12volt test light first make sure you have a 12vlt at the B+ of the coil then move the test light to coil negative with someone cranking it it sould pulse(blink on and off) if it doesnt you will have to replace the whole distributor if it does blink you will need to replace cap rotor plug wires
