Air bag light is on and stays on. Hyundai had a re-call for this problem where the driver-side seatbelt was affecting the circuit for the airbag. I had the problem checked at a Hyundai dealer (showed them the re-call) and they confirmed that that is cause of the problem and I will have to replace the seat belt (as stated in the re-call). Hyundai Canada is claiming that there isn't any outstanding re-calls for this. My question is, is there a body responsible for dealing with this and how do I contact them?

Same problem here, airbag light stays on. I am hoping someone post more on how to fix or more information on a recall.
Same problem - get it fixed immediately! My 2003 Tiburon, just had the PASSENGER airbag explode! The car was going under 5mph leaving a parking lot, when BAM, it exploded, causing the bag to hit the rearview mirror which slammed into the windshield cracking the windshield. Driver got startled at the explosion and the burning powder that came out, he took his hand off the shift knob and the steering wheel, took his attention to the passenger side and the car skimmed a pole causing bumper damage. We were lucky if this happened at 60mph on a highway it could have been a total disaster.
I am not sure and have found no evidence that the airbag light is connected to the PASSENGER side. Everything i read says that light is connected to the Driver side.
I have the same problem with the air bag light being on all the time and the seat belt bell goes on intermintately
Same problem over here!!! Does this recall expire? or will Hyundai still fix it for free???
I have the same problem with the SRS light being on. I own a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. I did some research cause I didn't want to take me car into the shop yet. My car runs fine and maintenance is properly kept. It appears the light comes on at a certain mileage interval. Mine came on after I hit the 90,000 mi mark. My understanding of this is that it's automatically programmed into some hyundai models. When the light comes on, you can only bring it into a hyundai dealer because no other companies will be able to help you. They just have to plug your car into their machine and scan it to make sure your car is operating well and that you've had your regular maintenance. If all is well, they just end up resetting the Air bag light and you're good to go..with a fee. I also, know this because a friend of mine, who is a manager at a rental car company, informed me that it's what they have to do to their hyundai models when the SRS(airbag) light is on. Hope this helps!
I have an 05 that the light just came on does anybody know if this problem effects my year of tiburon too?
I am driving a '95 Odyssey. With 245,000 miles. The air-bag light is on. Dealer cannot fix. Way too old. It is Not a lemon, and I'd like to up-grade it by 2-5 years. Airbags are Still tested Only on 250-lb men. They Kill women. Ergo, I just do not care. Happier that they - all 2 of them, are broken.
