#1 cylinder is on the back of the motor first one to the ritght. On the driver's side. the cylinders go 1,2,3 fromright to left on the back of motor as stand facing the vehicle and 4,5,6 left to right in the front of the motor as you face the vehicle. Hope you understand what I'm telling you.
Good luck,Dan

Where is ignition coil E located on a 2001 Mazda tribute

Standing in front of the vehicle, looking at the vehicle. Ford is 1,2,3,4 on the left and 5. 6.7.8. on the right. Front to back. a,b,c,d on the left, e,f,g,h on the right. So E would be on the drivers side , first cylinder. If the coil is hitting, then look to the spark plug first, also the boot, then the injector and wiring.

Is number 1 plug at the back and where is the coil

The number one cylinder is always in the front of the engine.
The 4 cyl engine uses one coil for all 4 cylinders.
The 6 cyl engine uses one coil on each plug.
