In November 2008, SES light came on. I had 80% coolant leakage through the 3rd cylinder. It was causing spark plugs to foul and making the car idle roughly. Dealership repaired 3rd cylinder, got new head gasket and the machine shop reconditioned cylinder head. Vehicle was fine for a month and then the SES light came on again.When it was checked a few weeks ago it began throwing a swirl control valve code. Smelled coolant again today while driving the car. Checked the coolant level..very low, past the minimum level and the service engine light is still on but the car runs fine. What could be up with this car? It only has 33,000 miles on it. I'll take it to the dealership again on Monday. Has anyone else had this issue?
Well if the head gasket has been replaced you shouldnt smeel any coolant. But have you check your coolant hoses???? for leaks or any coolant on the driveway, when your car has been sitting there overnight!???

Had the about the same problem yesterday, Coolant was spraying out the overflow bottle and emptied the radiator, filled the radiator up anf it ran ok for awhile than began to heat up a little bit. But it never overheated. than the SES light came on, it was cylinder 2 misfire. checked the plug it appeared to have coolant in the cyliderbut it smelled more like gas. Changed the thermostat and dtill the same problem, the heater isnt kicking out hot air the the heater turned all the way up. I'm stumped, thought it was the thermostat, that it be the waterpump, thought it might be a head gasket, but the coolant was clear and the oil was good, does anyone have any thoughts???
i started my car and it felt like it was going to stall, i waited a few minutes and it was fine, the next time i start it the ses light comes on and it feels like it is going to die again i wait this time a little longer and again it fine...so i went online did some research and realized it was the head gasket...i immediatly went and got the part and was going to replace it the following morning...so the following morning i go out to take to the place to get it fixed but my car wont start at all now i am screwed and stumped
