2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s...SES light on. PLEASE HELP!

In November 2008, SES light came on. I had 80% coolant leakage through the 3rd cylinder. It was causing spark plugs to foul and making the car idle roughly. Dealership repaired 3rd cylinder, got new head gasket and the machine shop reconditioned cylinder head. Vehicle was fine for a month and then the SES light came on again. When it was checked a few weeks ago it began throwing a swirl control valve code. Smelled coolant again today while driving the car. Checked the coolant level..very low, past the minimum level and the service engine light is still on but the car runs fine. What could be up with this car? It only has 33,000 miles on it. I'll take it to the dealership again on Monday. Has anyone else had this issue?

Had the about the same problem yesterday, Coolant was spraying out the overflow bottle and emptied the radiator, filled the radiator up anf it ran ok for awhile than began to heat up a little bit. But it never overheated. than the SES light came on, it was cylinder 2 misfire. checked the plug it appeared to have coolant in the cyliderbut it smelled more like gas. Changed the thermostat and dtill the same problem, the heater isnt kicking out hot air the the heater turned all the way up. I'm stumped, thought it was the thermostat, that it be the waterpump, thought it might be a head gasket, but the coolant was clear and the oil was good, does anyone have any thoughts???

Well if the head gasket has been replaced you shouldnt smeel any coolant. But have you check your coolant hoses???? for leaks or any coolant on the driveway, when your car has been sitting there overnight!???

2005 Nissan Sentra takes a long time to start after running AC

I would recommend a thorough throttle body and injector cleaning. If you have 70K plus miles on the vehicle, combustion deposits build up on the back side of the throttle body and plate as well as the ends of the fuel injectors. When the build up is sufficient enough it will block the area of the throttle body blade that allows air into the engine for starting.
The deposits also build up on the injector tips and distort the fuel spray pattern that will cause a delayed starting problem.
Have them both cleaned along with a fuel filter change and your car will be back to normal.
Good luck.

White smoke and misfire specially in 3rd gear

white smoke is usually a sign of coolant getting into the combustion chamber due to a blown head gasket.

Pull the spark plugs and look for one that is very clean comared to the others. If you find one, that is where coolant is getting into cylinder.

Also, sometimes the emissions system can cause this if a defect.

Car wont start

A few things might cause that, ECU, Fuel Pump/ Crank/Cam Sensors. You may want a nissan dealer to take a look at it.

I have a 2005 nissan sentra and back in november i had the thermostat and the head gasket replaced. then i was told a spark plug was broken and that as soon as that is fixed the check engine light would...

I would recomend buying a chiltons manual for your car at your local auto parts store. If you are willing to work on your own vehicle it is definitly worth the price

Nissan Sentra Super sallon Coolant level reduce by 1 cm bioweekly

not frequently, maybe once a month. if the coolant is going down "drasticly",and no visible signs of a leak, then you have a bad head gasket..
