I was out of town for 1 week. My car was in my garage port the whole time. I went to start it up and the engine wouldn't turn. I saw the messages displayed on the dash: DSC not available, Gearbox Fault, ABS fault, park brake fault... they were diplayed continuously in the order that I just wrote. The car would not start, would not even turn over to try to start. I see that many people have had similar problems but am unclear if I need to reset something or if I need to have it towed to a mechanic. I appreciate any and all feedback you have. Thank you very much.

most likely the ran it up on the lift and that triggers all these. you should be able to bring it any local garage and they should clear it.

I have a 2002 X type (2 litre. done 44000 miles), dash showed gear box problem, (red circle light up). I pulled out and turned the engine off. 5 minutes later turned the engine on. The engine running but the car would not drive either in drive or reverse. Turned the engine off again and on the car driving but not much power. The care is taken to the Jag. dealer and told is misfiring + some gear box faults. Suggesting to change some coils and see (cost about £200+). also possible need to change the gear box costing about £2500+. Please advice. Shall I go ahead with the repair? Should I part exchange.
Whenever
this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating
that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of
lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected
a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM,
SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must
now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and
"scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the
problem(s)
