No biggie Brother. Just the neutral safety switch needs be adjusted better. I've the same problem with my Ranger and I plan on just connecting the two wires together at the neutral safety switch. Then it will crank every time, no matter what gear it's in. but it's only natural to have it park when stopped anyway, so I see no problem in just jumping the 2 wires together to have the circuit always complete. It won't hurt a thing.

Most major auto part chain stores have a loaner code scanner (they require you to leave your ID while you use the tool in their parking lot). There is a connector under the dash near on the drivers side that accepts the reader....check the codes and Google them for repair info or post them back here.

i suggest removing the flywheel inspection cover, and rolling the engine over a little bit at a time, checking to make sure that there are no worn or broken teeth. also, make sure there is no lateral movement, which could indicate a broken flexplate. good luck.

2003 chevy steering colum has bumping sound @feeling.whitch shaft needs replaced. the upper or lower.

Not sure what type of Chevrolet you have, but a lot of pickups in that year had trouble with the intermediate shaft (Between the column, and the steering gear) It is a type of 'slip joint' that allows movement between the cab, and the frame, it has a nylon insert that wears out over time. The new one has a larger shaft, looks longer lasting. Pretty easy to replace too. - Seems a few full size Chevy vehicles used this shaft. You can actually feel it if you have someone move the steering back and fourth while you put your hand on the shaft.

How do you take a ignition switch out of a 1977 chevy pickup with a non tilt steering column?

Pop the center out of the wheel, disconnect the horn. Remove the big nut. Use steering wheel puller to remove wheel.

DC horn wiring again, remove plastic cover. Depress lock plate and remove circlip. DO NOT LOOSE. remove lock plate. some have a small 3/16 allen screw holding key tumbler in others have a flat spring to depress.

If the actual switch (not lock cyl) is bad you will have to lower the colum from the dash Remove screws (4) holding te plastic piece under the colum2 bolts it will swing down and allow access to the ignition Sw, top side of the colum.
