I own a 1991 toyota camry.the last month (since the cold weather ) i went out and started my car and oil blew out everywhere. I rplaced the oil filter and replaced the oil it ran fine for 3 days then did the same thing again. so I replaced the oil filter again and it ran fine for over a week this morning I started the car and the same thing happened again.when the car starts it sounds like its going to fly away. any ideas what can be causing this.
Most likely the problem is you have blowby. the oil is coming up past your worn piston oil rings which is causing oil everywheres. start your car and remove the oil dipstick and see if oil comes out. if not you need a engine rebuild or new used motor which would be cheaper in the long run.

If oil pressure is too high, check if the pressure relief valve is stuck or inoperable.Don't know where it's at on your toyota. Check with a garage or dealer for location. Other possibility is a clogged oil passage somewhere. For that, a good oil conditioner might help.
The manufacturer recommends 5W30 conventional. I like Castrol myself. for a 1996 Camry. Newer Camry's require a 5W20 synthetic but not yours. Looks like 4 quarts is the amount.

This is most likely a noisy lifter (or valve tappet). In cold weather, the clearances in the valve train open up because metal contracts due to the cold. Once the oil pressure comes up after start the noise goes away because the larger clearance fills with oil and the lifter becomes "cushioned" with the oil. The proper fix is to have the valves adjusted. I believe in your model, that is done by putting shims on the lifters. This will quiet the noisy lifters. In the short term, you can try using a lighter weight oil for cold weather. This will get the oil to the lifters faster after start up and quiet the tapping more quickly. Once the weather warms again, shift back to the normal weight.
it sounds like your oil pressure sending unit may be plugged by whatever took your pressure down to 5-8 psi the first time. this is extremely low pressure as i am sure you know but at 30 psi your light should go off i would replace the sending unit if your oil pressure is holding 30
I had the same exact problem. In between the door and the body theres a wire harnass. Wires coming through the door were cut almost all the way through. cut the black plastic covering off. Only 2 of my wires were cut.
Replace the ignition coil under the distributor cap. What you have is a hairline crack in it, and, when it is damp, the spark arcs out of the crack to ground, no spark. This is a VERY common problem with older Camrys. Take the coil off, and look at it real closely. You will see black marks on it, from the crack. I am very sure that this will eliminate your problem.
