Check your timing, make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks around the intake manifold.
SOURCE: 1990 ford f250 4x4 460
first thing to check is to remove the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and start the engine and see if there is any fuel leaking from were you removed the hose if there is replace the regulator, also test each fuel injector for proper resistance they should be 13-16 ohms if not replace the injectors if all this checks ok then make sure that you have not jumped time, it sounds like the timing is slow, this could be caused by some thing wrong with the distributor like a bad module or a bad pick up coil inside the distributor, or it could be that the timing chain has jumped a tooth or two, if you find that the timing is off suspect the timing chain, loosen the distributor hold down and advance the timing and see if the engine come around if it does check the chain....good luck
let me know if there is any thing else you need.

Hello
The very first things that need to be done to diagnose this problem are number one have the electronic engine control system memory checked for fault codes, you can do this manually by following the instruction's at this link: http://www.extreme-check-engine-light-codes.com/Ford%20OBD1%20Decoder.htm . Next you need to know what the fuel pressure is doing while driving. Normal Fuel pressure for this engine would be about 42-52 PSI, the pressure will increase as the throttle is applied and the engine vacuum drops, it should never go down, so when you accelerate the pressure should go up about 6 PSI. Another thing that goes wrong in this model is the Catalytic Converter get plugged up (if equipped), have the exhaust checked for excessive back pressure.
