SOURCE: 2000 jeep wrangler will not start from the key

It sounds like you have a bad neutral safety switch or your linkage is worn enough that it's not registering properly.

There is no headlight switch for my 2000 jeep wrangler

have a qualified auto electrician move the power for the lights to the ignition switch so that when you turn off the ignition the lights go off. or have a qualified put an extremely loud beeper in the light circuit so that it sounds when you turn off the ignition. Actually there is a beeper that sounds when you leave the lights on after you turn off the ignition.

2000 jeep wrangler - starts and then will die while driving. Battery replaced, starter replaced, alternator checks out okay. Could it be the solenoid?

The solenoid causes the starter to engage when the ignition switch is turned to start. If the car starts, the solenoid is probably okay.

Sounds more like a fuel delivery problem.

The ignition switch is stuck in the off position and i mean stuck. The key goes in all the way with no problum but the switch will not turn keeping the stering wheel and gearshifter locked. so what i am...

I had the same problem and was told the pins inside the ignition start to lock up on older vehicles. This could also be caused by having a heavy key chain or many keys causing weight to hang from the ignition. I was informed the only way to fix it was to replace and rekey a new ignition which runs about $300-400. I can wiggle mine when this happens and usually get it to move. I'm going to ride mine out as long as possible.

Control guages not working

1) Check large fuses and relays in the box near your battery in engine compartment.
2) Jiggle the shifter repeatedly - the shifter and brack interlock switch is notorious for getting worn out and causing problems like this (happens to me evry 3-6 months)
3) Ignition switch cable assembly may be loose, or ignition switch may need to be replaced (let dealer figure this out).
