I have a 1998 gmc sonoma my brake Lights dont work but everything else does except the right blinker changed bulbs didn't help

Check brake light fuse first. If ok, the brake light switch at the brake pedal may be defective. Try wiggling the switch to see if the brake lights work. If not, disconnect the wiring connecter and if it is just 2 wires cross them over and see if the brake lights come on. If they do, the brake light switch is bad. If wiggling the switch makes the brake lights work, I would suggest a brake light switch as well

My brakelights are both not working after changing the bulbs, changing brake pedal sensor, and checking all fuses. The running lights, parking lights, turn signals, hazard lights all work. Please give me...

Probably the blinker switch ..The brake light circuit runs through the blinker switch..Let somebody look and while you have the brakes applied move the switch around and see if the lights come on

96 monte carlo rear window brake light works but not brake lights. tail lights work, blinkers work, replaced brake switch and bulbs still not working

This is a common GM specific problem. Your turn signal switch contains an elaborate networking device that has to cancel brakelights while running a turn light. Often times the ground within the turn signal switch is lost causing your situation. After investigating such other possibilities as fuses and loose grounds it may become necessary to replace the turn signal switch. Thank you, Dana

My 1998 chevy lumina brake lights won't light up when pressed. I have chaged all fuses and light bulbs. Am I missing any other place for fuses?

this would be a multifunction switch which turn signal switch wipers ect. run through located on steering column under plastic cover.assuming the brake light switch is good see if third brake light works when you press the pedal if so it is deffintly the multi switch.

1998 mazda protoge brake lights do not work checked fuse...ok.... changed brake light switch but still no brake light... any suggestions?

stupid question but have you checked that all the globes arnt blown.
also have you adjusted the stop light switch properly.

a good test to to is check your globes replace them if you are not shore of them then un plug the stop light switch and earth out the two pins in the plug then check if the light come on.
if they do you may still have a faulty new switch our it might need adjusting
