Flasher relay location 1994 4runner

The flasher is under the dash.If you turn on the signal listen for it's location.Turn on your 4 way flasher and see if the left rear light is flashing.If it's not then replace the bulb.If it still does'nt work after replacing the bulb check if there is power to the socket. Use a probe light.If no power to the socket.There is a break in the wire or worse the signal switch may be the culprit

There is no flasher, the noise you hear is synthetic and heard through the driver door speaker from the BCM computer module.

The turn signal flasher is located on the bottom rear of the turn signal switch, mounted on the steering column. If you remove the shroud from the steering column, you'll be able to see the flasher on the switch. It's a small black plastic box, plugged into a socket on the switch.

Turn on the Durango and check each of the four turn signals to make sure that the bulbs are not burned out. If you find one that has gone out, replace the bulb and retest the turn signals. When a bulb goes bad on this circuit, the resulting operation can mimic a bad flasher or one that is failing.

Locate the combination turn signal flasher and relay. It is on the left end of the driver's dash. Open the access door and view the collection of relays and fuses. At the left side of the mounting block is a larger flasher and relay. This is the combination turn signal flasher and relay.

Test the relay by placing you finger on the relay housing and activating the turn signal. If you have found the right one, you should feel a clicking as the turn signal blinks. Remove the relay, replace with the new relay and close the access door

Start the Durango and activate the turn signals to check that they each work. The light should turn on and should blink. Also, check the hazard lights to make sure they work.

If the lights come on but just do not flash, replace the flasher relay. Your Thunderbird has 2 flasher relays. One for the Turn signals and one for the Hazard lights. The turn signal relay is located Front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in lower corner of fuse block . The hazard relay is located Front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in rear of fuse block. Replace the one for the Turn Signals. Hello jaglx007: My name is Roger and I will help. By relay I assume you mean the turn signal flasher. To locate the flasher you will need to remove the panel under the drivers side dash. This requires a 7 mm. socket and a nut driver.Remove the row of screws in the bottom cover. The ones in the bottom of the dash. Should be three or four. Look at the fuse box. At the rear of the box you will find the flasher. Will be held to the rear of the fuse box by a metal clip. The flasher will be round in shape. Un clip the flasher and disconnect the wire harness. I had the same problem. It was a defective lamp socket on the driver's left side, Volvo Part Number 8662985. Costs me $11.24 to replace the lamp socket, which included the bulb. If you've already replaced the bulbs yourself, you will find replacing the socket pretty easy, just use a thin flathead screwdriver to delicately pry off the metal retainer clip which holds the lamp socket in place, as you'll need to reinstall the existing metal retainer clip once you've replaced the lamp socket. Two minute job.

If I understand you right based on your post/description, the signal lights would still turn on even if any or both of the flasher relays are removed. Should this be the case, then the signal lights are not getting the power from the flasher relays but from the brake light circuit.

Perhaps your concern is not with any of the flasher, but simply missing or loose ground more particularly with the rear lights. Perhaps you could try determining which of the wires for the brake lights and signal lights (as they come out of the light assembly) would be ground . A test and even possibly a temporary workaround is to hard wire a second ground connection from the determined ground wire of the lights and attach it to any conveniently located bolt or screw to the body. it may be to your advantage to do this on all the rear lights assembly.
