Sir,

Check battery cables

Sounds like you have a bad connection either to the battery or starter. The lights might pull about 20 amps and stock stereo may pull 7 amps. But a starter pulls around 250 amps or more. If you have a corroded battery and or cables or loose connections, this will give you the symtoms your having.

thanks
good luck

I am having the same problem. i changed the fuel pump the weekend before christmas 2008, but the problem is still there. i have noticed when the car won't start there is no sound coming from the fuel pump, so i now suspect there is a loose wire connection or some other electrical issue, because the fuel pump is new. i now toggle the ignition switch back and forth from off to the on position until i hear the fuel pump sound, then the car starts with no problem. not the best solution, can be frustrating, but so is turning over the engine and the car not starting.

Hi i think its starter problem

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. If necessary for access to the starter, disconnect the exhaust crossover pipe from the manifolds.
  4. Unfasten the two starter mounting bolts/screws and carefully lower the starter motor.

The problem is in the ecm which is either over heating or has water or moisture inside the ecm (electronic control module) just replace it with the same number which is on the old box.and please dont forget to rate me.

is it possible for you to see if you get spark while you crank the engine? one quick method is to watch the tach o meter, if the vehicle has one, and if the needle moves while you are cranknig that indicates you have spark, and so the crank sensor is ok, but then again it may not b4e getting fuel which is controlled by the ecm.

I would suggest that you check and see if the engine has fuel pressure when this happens, to easily check this open the gas cap and listen closely while some one cycles the the ign key on and off every 5 seconds ( don't crank the engine), the pump will make a humming noise if it is running, the other method is to use the test port on the injector fuel rail on top of the eng, it looks like a tire valve, depress the little valve while the key is cycled, if pressure is present it will spray allot of fuel, pressure is around 40 PSI

The fuel pump is most likely the problem, the other issue would be the Crankshaft Position sensor, that controls spark to the plugs, they can go open from temp changes and cause a crank but no start, this is less common unless the car has around 100,000 miles on it. Also listen when the engine is idling for fuel pump noise, if you hear it inside the car the bearing in the pump are going bad and it might be sticking at times and not pumping.

Where do I get this experience? 20 years of doing nothing but problems like yours in a new car dealer.

What is the emission control system on a suzuki jimny? my emission control light came on and the jeep wont start..how could this be solved?

sorry nat, its no jeep.. (closest match here is Samurai)
moved yah i did.
No year stated, hopeless, for sure.. that...
nor is Jimny sold in USA, and this is a uSA forum.
Means we have no books on Jimny here...for that fact.
forget that lamp CEL?, it glows telling you , PCM has power and as a self test on lamp on all cars.
but the IMMO lamp? that be #1 to see... if fitted. as some are.

what matters only is this.. see how far you can get.?
won't start means nothing unless you say it cranks and don;t start.
starter motor sounds ok, not silent.?
see, we can hear this or guess. and is KEY to the reasons.

all you can do is test fuse.
see if cluster immoblizer light is glowing funny or flashing wrong.

dont crank ,? clean battery lugs, and then charge battery
jumper cable crank it.
cranks ok, check for spark.
if dont know how get tow to shop that does.

Suzuki K6a engine. Turns over but won't start

we dont have this engine in USA< (this forum is USA forum.....)
what year, what car? ?? what country?
the k6a fits many cars, and many years and can be carb or EFI fueled.

the K6a line up, do tell what you are driving....please.
now to answer in GENERIC Mr. Otto Cycle mode. (gas engines)
no spark, check spark.
never tuned up, ever.
low compression, find timing chain slipped or worse.
twin cam 3 cylinder.
with chain drive. if chain is/was quiet, the cam timing should be good. as is compression over 150psi.
if compression is good, and spark good, x3
then it will run on test fuel, does it?
of not clogged melted CAT?

Jimny running fine - started screeching like belt slipping - after 2-3 miles car died when pulled to a stop - strong burning smell - won't restart - ignition turns but no starter engages - 1996 model

Engine may have slipped off mounts and fan may be rubbing a hose. This would stop when you stop, be reason for water loss and burning smell . Check hoses around front of engine, if this is the problem then engine mounts need replacing and hoses.

2008 suzuki jimny wont start Was running ok then

sure , they all ran like new, when new. or yesterday.
but not now. that means it BUSTED.

so check for spark.
if not spark then fix that.
modern cars have EFI, and all EFI cut fuel if the cars ECU brain
even thinks for a moment there is no spark (it can see it?
so spark is 1st. (if engine is good,)
ever give the car a full 60k mile tuneup, (100km)
if not why not?

Signal light fuse keeps blowing

the fuse stopped the fire. that is what fuses do.
so, you have a dead short on the blinkers.
remove each lamp 1 at a time.
yes, lamps can short. (twisted too hard)
remove them.
still blow the blinker fuse.?
yes, then the wires are shorted.
and guess what, top reasons are.
1: trailer wiring, look behind each lap assembly, BINGO?
2: hacking or collision, yes, look 1 more time. ,yes behind the lamp assembles, look carefully for DAMAGE.

Suzuki jimny 2004 model shuddering or death wobble

After searching on the net we saw a blog that said in rrsponse to having the rattle to ring the suzuki customer service hot line so we did. Found out that our jimny had a VIN number that was part of a recall that is still current. We booked in to get the rattle fixed at no cost they said for 12 Jan 2015. However today as we were driving along the steering column broke completely. We got the jimny towed to the same suzuki dealer and will be fixed free of cost next week. Moral of the story is ring Suzuki customer care and don't put it off!
