I's possibly a bad ground at your harness or your multifunction swith could be going bad. this is your main control for your wipers bright dims as well as cruise control.
the multifunction switch is apart of your turn signal swith the connections for this are at the base of the steering column. the connections are bolted together at the base. the ground I was speeking of is under the hood around both the left as well as the right side of the dog house by the headlights.

You should be able to get to the bulbs by reaching in from the engine compartment side and twisting the headlamp sockets to the left. If you need more room to work and want to remove the healamp housing assembly, you can remove the 2 long bolts that go down through the radiator support and pull the headlamp assembly forward. It is not necessary to remove the grille.

driving along with the lights in high beam they went out. shifted to low beam and they worked. shifted back to high beam and then they worked. this happened a couple of times during 100 mile trip. i had driven through rain. next day I have been unable to make this high beam problem reappear.
is this multifunction switch buried in the steering column? is that where the bad ground could be? you have been very helpful. Thanks
