Were is the fuse for cig lighter
SOURCE: which fuse is which
There is usually a fuse diagram or legend printed on the fuse box cover.
SOURCE: cig lighter wont work?
look for the brake light fuse, usually the brake light and cigar lighter are on the same circuit, but it may not be. ytour fuse panel should be under the left side of the dash/ feet compartment. if you have a power tester or a fuse checker use that, with the fuse checker there usually to pegs that you put to either side if the fuse. using either one, if the light stays off don't panic, if the light comes on, then it is another problem
Ok, the light ddi not come on, check to see if you have a good ground, usually there is a power point in evey fuse panel. touch it with your wire tester, put the pointy sharp end on the fuse if there is one, or just try every fuse, if the light comes on, you have a good ground, if not, then wiggle the ground while on a already checked fuse or input point. get a light ? no ? maybe something else is at fault. the cigar lighter is likely th culprit especially if it is the orginal lighter. you can check to see if there is power at the cigar lighter holder, but CAUTION, the end of the case is positive and the walls are negative. do not touch them at the same time, you will get a good short going. if there is a light then the circuit is ok, it is the lighter it's self. if you have access to a ohm meter that produces a audiable sound, set the switch to OHM's touch the solid part of the the lighter with one connector and use the other one to touch the coil on the end of the lighter, if you get a audible sound the lighter may be ok. no sound but the meter moved alot, one side to the other, it is possibly a good unit.
have someone step on the brakes and see if all the lights work, if they do that part is ok, if you have a burnt out bulb replace it start all over. you could take the chance that the fuse was bad, but if you put the fusae in and appply the brake peddle it is going to do 2 things, look at the the tail lights while the peddle is appplied and just have a look at them. one side still off ? replace the fuse and try it agin while observing the fuae in the panel. if it pops and produces a ble/white light for a milliseconod, there are more problems, like wiring underneath the carpet, possibly a bad bulb, check them alll especially the one that is not working, replace it with a new one and see if it works while the brakes are applied. Hopefully we have solved the problem and the lighter works. test the new lighter, throw the old one away unless you are trying to keep it as original as possible. it can be dome, just check around and look for a replacement eleme if that is the problem. I hope that helps all of you out and if you have a question about what I have said, let me telll you that I am trying to rememeber this from my mind, so go easy on me, I am now disabled, nice eh?. but I can still think, cannot do the work, but I know it in my head and what I don't remember, I check in the books that I have FOR NORTH AMERICAN MODELS, and some older japanese models. good luck I hope you get it working, remeber if you are smoking, it's going to catch up with you. don't smoke and enjoy your life ahead of you, there are alot of things to see and do. get off your *** and buy a car, truck, whatever is road worthy and start on small trips and next time a little farther, sooner or later we are going to meet up in california. I am in Canada, Calgary Alberta and I go all over place, I love driving. with my years of driving I have leaned alot of things and have see some spectacular sights, both countries, Cnanda and the US have so much to offer for entertainmet, fun, and the part I like , EXPLORING. Ok, my get out and DO SOMETHING message is finished. peace
SOURCE: what fuse is the cig. lighter on, 2003 pont. grand
the cig. lighter is in the underhood fuse block
fuse #34 20 amp
SOURCE: Is there a fuse for
Yes there is a fuse for the cig. ltr. and the lights for the gears. However, a burnt out bulb could cause the gear selector not to light up.
This requires disassembling the console around the gear shifter.
