Recently, the driver's side windshield wiper will not operate. The passenger side works fine. I can see the mechanism turning on the driver's side wiper, but the wiper arm remains stationary. Any ideas, and how can I repair this myself? It's a 2006 Mazda 3.
THe "teeth" connecting the arm to the motpr pivot is likely stripped and need ot be replaced....frozen wippers are a common problem that causes the arm socket to become stripped

yeah, tried that. i'm wondering if there is a gear of some sort in there that is stripped. i tried removing the actual wiper arm, but it wouldnt come off. didnt want to force it. any suggestions on how to get it off?
i have a 2005 mazda 3i ... the driver-side wiper is not moving, though the control arms seems to be moving a bit ... other wiper on passenger side works fine
i've heard mazda made the wipers such that a bolt will automatically loosen if the wipers are stuck (frozen?) and there is repeated attempts to operate them ... has anyone heard this? does anyone know how to tighen the bolt? doesn't seem too obvious just from looking at the mechanism
My drivers side windshield wiper will not operate after the the wiper was frozen to the window. The motor still works as the mechanism still turns. I think it may be stripped (on the wiper arm only). Anyhow, it doesn't work. The passenger side works fine.
