This isn't really a "fix" but an "upgrade". I have an 1995 Oldsmobile 88 LSS with analog gauges. Everything works fine but I came across a digital instrument cluster with heater-a/c controls from an 1994 Oldsmobile 98 Regency at a local bone yard. I went ahead with the swap and it almost worked perfect. Speedometer, temperature and fuel gauges work perfect. However, the driver information center controls right beside the heater controls do nothing at all plus the driver information center reports the following: "oil pressure sender prob" and "lamp monitor problem" and "change oil now". The oil pressure light remains on. I have tried many different computer reset procedures found on the net, including disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. I would love to keep this instrument panel, it looks so nice. Any ideas what might help?
That may very well be and it would be a simple swap. However, would that effect the driver information center controls beside the heater-a/c controls? Those buttons do absolutely nothing right now. That may very well be and it would be a simple swap. However, would that effect the driver information center controls beside the heater-a/c controls? I assume the fuse box locations for a 1997 Olds 88 would be the same as for a 1999 - which are: (1) In the lower cover panel below the instrument cluster just left of the steering column - with a snap-off cover. (2) Passenger side 'kick panel' - side panel under the dashboard just forward of the door - lower cover panel underneath the dashboard and next to the firewall must first be removed. (3) Under the hood on passenger side on the firewall - need to remove black plastic outer cover (1/4 turn finger latches) then two black plastic inner covers (side spring latches).
Valve stem seals. Oil is thicker when cold (hence no smoke when cold) Vlave stem symptoms are when engine at idle (high vacume) oil is pulled through the guide seals, when you take off from lights get bit of smoke until oil is burnt. Ring symtoms is it would be blowing smoke all the time especially at higher rpm for extended time ie: driveing. Have you thought of trying a thicker oil? what oil grade do you currently run?
iac motor could be bad. also check the fuel pressure regulator to make sure it isn't leaking fuel out of the vacuum connection and allowing it to **** back into the intake.
Really? That would put soo much hurt on my pocketbook that my health would be affected. Just like a health issue, I think I'd want a second opinion. Of course, I couldn't argue with the price of parts and everything else now. Insurance appraiser said the damages to my neighbor's one or two year old car totaled over $9,000, from hitting a horse. When I look at it, I have trouble believing it is that much. Anyway that sounds pretty high. Is there a lot of electronic gizmo there besides a pump and a sensor or two?
Check the left of the steering wheel, under instrument panel, for left fuse panel; additional fuses are located in the relay center, on the far right side below instrument panel.
