Alarm keeps going off all by itself for no reason. have to unlock and then lock doors by using remote.

Dash shows door open, but none is. when you use remote to unlock vehicle, it shuts off, and when you relock vehicle, after awhile alarm goes off again. could be hours later or just minutes. only happens when dash says there is a door open. while driving it is starting to happen now. dash light comes on saying a door is open, and as soon as we stop, and lock cae, within minutes alarm goes off.

SOURCE: Explorer alarm going off randomly; additional electrical isues

Open drivers door and look at the hinge area. You will see a black rubber accordion looking tube going from the door to the a-pillar. This is the protector for the wiring harness. Wiggle it and see if this recreates your concern. If it does then pop it loose at both ends so you can inspect the wiring.Check each one carefully, feel them and tug on them. You will be looking for one that the wire inside the wiring insulation has broken, the two wires to really look at closley are the YE/BK and BK .
It may also possibly be a door ajar switch sticking and for this take some WD40 and shoot some in each latch on the side of the door and open and close the door several times and this usually un-sticks it.

SOURCE: 2005 Ford Escape - Door Open Indication Light & Horn Alarm Sounds

This is probably caused by:

a loose door switch, or

a loose connection to a door switch, or

a defective (dirty / corroded) door switch.

There is a false signal being sent that a door is open / ajar.

Peugeot 508 RXH: I cannot lock the car with the remote. The doors lock, but unlock again. The car detects open doors correctly. I can lock the doors with the dashboard button.

If you have 2 remotes does it do the same thing with both of them?
I/We have a Honda FRV and if you set the alarm from outside the car ....which locks the doors ...and the doors are opened from the inside, (yes I have set the alarm whilst still in the car,) this unlocks the doors as the drivers door has the master central locking switch on it. If I close the door withing a few seconds the alarm reactivates itself and the doors relock automatically
Presumably when your doors unlock the alarm is disarmed? Maybe your issue is linked to the receiver in the security system?

There is a difference, presumably, between you locking the doors from the dash as opposed to doing it from the remote control, the security system is not armed in the former, only the doors are locked +

try this one and let me know.

1 Unlock the car, get in and close the door

2 Switch ignition on

3 Press the door lock button on the dash to lock the car

4 Press and hold the door lock button on the dash, the alarm will beep

5 Keep holding the door lock button on the dash, press and hold the lock on the remote,

the alarm will beep

Repeat (5) for the other remotes,

6 leave the door lock button on the dash, the alarm will beep, switch ignition off

CAR ALARM ISSUES

It can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again properly.

Or else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact with alarm wiring causing it to happen.

And last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere in between.

There are few help links with solutions, to troubleshoot these types of problems. I suggest going through these links.

If the passkey is messed up, there will be a light on the dash that says security, or have a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If there is no light when the key is turned forward, then its NOT a passkey problem.

lock with key, electric door lock button,or remote and alarm will set. to disarm you have to use the key or remote to open it.the reason it woulnt disarm from drivers door is either the door lock cylinder switch is broken or the wire to it in the rubber boot that connects the door and the body is broken.
the remotes are cheap and programing is easy, procedure in owners manuel something like lock drive door with elkect. lock switch with door open then push and hold unlock untill doors unlock then turn key off.you may have to fix that drive door lock cyl.switch first though mabee not dont know for sure

Alarm system goes off by itself

Your system may have a backup battery that has low voltage when the car is turned off. You may have to look under the dash to see if you can find the main computer for the alarm.
