03 Subaru Forester Fog lights wont shut off.

Noticed my fog lights were on, and I could not shut them off from the steering column. That ended up draining the battery. After I recharged the batter the light being on persist. I pulled out fuse 15A behind the coin tray to see if that would resolve the issue. No luck. Any Ideas?? Thanks

SOURCE: Low beam headlight is out, doesn't look like a fuse

Check the Headlight Switch. If your headlights come on automatically check the headlight sensor and its associated relay.

SOURCE: describe how to change fog lamp (just the bulb) on

2005 Forester - It is easiest to remove the fog assembly.

1. From underneath the vehicle pry out one plastic fastener to be able to bend the light weight plastic mud protector downward. You will see the underside of the fog light assembly with one 10mm bolt directly above you. Remove this bolt.
2. From the front of the vehicle unscrew one 10mm bolt at top of fog light (this is the shorter of the 2 by the way) and pry out one plastic rivet adjacent to it.

3. Carefully remove the fog assembly and disconnect 2-pin power connector by pulling up on the release. Carefully wiggle the housing out (no force req'd).
4. Unscrew the back from the housing and replace H3 bulbs. Take care not to touch the bulb while replacing.

5. Reverse to install.

Should take an hour at most.

How do you control the fog lights on a Subaru Xv australian

There should be a switch something like the one in the attached image on your dashboard. Check the whole dashboard as they can sometimes put it in an odd position. It should be somewhere near the steering column.
If there is two of them with the symbol in opposite directions you have front and rear fog lights fitted.

The running lights on my 2010 forester will not shut off. all information I find is to turn off the switch on top of steering column, but I have no switch on mine and can't find one anywhere.

Subaru dropped the 'virgin switch' on top of the steering column, not sure when.

If the rotating light switch at the end of the turn signal stalk on the column is fully rotated to OFF - and the running lights are still on, you may need a dealer or mechanic to look for a bad relay or possibly a short somewhere. Sometimes wires go bad in the boot to the hatch - leading to odd electrical problems. Certain type of dual element bulbs can cause issues too. Double check that none of the light assemblies have collected water.

Rear fog light won't switch off when ignition off.

Try this, make sure both bulbs are the same. Then try replacing both bulbs. Also go to fuse box usually in vehicle under glove box or steering column and change fuse for those lights.

If they are factory lights or even aftermarket they shoudl give you diagram. Oh and you will have to get a relay that subaru sells. most cars already have the accesory spot for it you just have to add the parts. subaru should tell you this. I was a subaru tech.
