Car is turned off but rear lights are still on. Removed keys and nothing happened. Just disconnected that battery and waited 15 min. Connected battery and the rear lights came back on...

CHECK THE STARTER.MAKE SURE ITS NOT LOOSE.IF ALL IS GOOD.THEN THE STARTER COULD BE BAD.IT COULD HAVE WORN DRIVE GEARS OR THE FLYWHEEL COULD HAVE WORN OR BROKEN TEETH.IF YOU REMOVE STARTER TO CHECK IT AND FLY WHEEL MAKE SURE TURN OFF RADIO SO YOU WONT LOSE PLAYING CODE.WHEN YOU REMOVE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.

I had the same problem, i had to remove the whole alarm system to get my car to start, when you unattatch the battery cables, the alarm notices the battery drain and sets the alarm off, i have no idea how much the dealership would charge for a new remote, but im sure its pricey, i would recommend just removing the alarm system, temporarily, until you can get a new remote. Good luck and god bless
