This happened on my 2007 cx7 and after trouble shooting the ENTIRE air bag system electrically it turned out it was the side restraint light itself... it's an LED, so it's unlikely the light will burn out, but the white connector that plugs into the bezel was not making a good connection... it takes five minutes to pull it off, just remove the trim/air vent assembly around the radio and then remove the 3 screws holding the info module in place and check/clean the connections...

Common fault on FORD

Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.

Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag fault

LFC ( Light Flash Code ) 18 is for the PAD ( Passenger Airbag Deactivation ) lamp. This is the yellow indicator above the radio.

If you have had the center trim panel out ( the part around the radio ) lately, I would think the light was not plugged back in, this is usually the cause of the LFC 18.
If it was removed without due care, it could be the wires are broke and need to be repaired.

Fix for Airbag error code 18 on Ford F150

The thread above is using the wrong LFC ( light Flash Code ) table ( it is shown as post 2000 mfgr date, but does not say what MY ). It is not a good idea to use a LFC from one MY for another, they can change at any time ( 2005 might not be the same as a 2006 ).

LFC 18 has to do with the PAD ( passenger Airbag Deactivation ) Lamp in the top of the center trim panel ( above the radio ).

Have you had the center trim panel out recently ? If so, you might want to remove the center trim panel, and check that the lamp is plugged in.

This is the LFC for a 2006 MY truck.

Airbag light keeps flashing

That indicates a fault with the airbag system, and your airbags will not operate in the event of an accident.

Take your car to a good mechanic or local Ford dealer to have the problem determined.

Keep in mind that if you live in an area that does anual vehicle saftey inspections, your car will not pass inspection with that light flashing or on.
