Dead pathfinder 92 pathfinder died. got jump, it started but died whenever you cut off engine. Replaced battery, fine for a while then died again. got tune up, replaced wires, plugs and cap. Started fine for few days then died again. Got jump, started then died when turned off engine. Let sit a couple days, tried to jump would crank but not turn over and start.

SOURCE: truck won't start

this sounds like crankshaft position sensor, my Cherokee was ding same thing it ended up being crank shaft position sensor. this part costs about $50 and is easy to install.

Put a crank position sensor on ,car finally started with a jump start took the cables off and died now all it does is click

CRANK IN NEUTRAL NOW, DOES ENGINE START?
STARTER RELAY BAD
STARTER BAD.
OR ANY WIRE ABOVE CONNECTED.

OR BAD BATTERY CABLES OR LUGS LOOSE OR RUSTY.
THE BATTERY WILL BE DEAD IF ALTERNATOR FAILS
OR ITS BELT IS LOST OR SLIPS OR ALTERNATOR FUSES BLOWN
MOST CARS IF ALT FAILS AND WE DRIVE 30 MINUTES AND ENGINE DIES, FOR DEAD BATTERY./ NIGHT TIME LESS.

92 Saab keeps dying, won't hold charge....

You have the battery and the alternator and the alternator belt and if they are working fine there must be something that is draining the battery. You need an auto electrician to check what the drain is. In such cases,on various vehicles, the BCM, body control module, proves to have something to do with it. Get A GOOD AUTO ELECTRICIAN to check if there is a particular component

My 92 celica wont start every now & then when u turn the key no lights come on now tonight i had to jump start it to get home but when i turned on the headlights it died immediatly so i jumped it again &...

These are indications of a dead battery. Have a load test done on the battery to check for a dead cell. check that the battery posts and terminals are shiny clean and tight.

Just replaced my battery in 04' Buick Ranier two weeks ago....battery dead again today, will jump and run ok until it's cut off again, then have to have another jump?

Check the see what the voltage is at the battery with the engine running. You should see around 14 volts. If you see charging voltage than I would check the electrical system for draws. This needs to be done with a volt meter capable of reading amperage. If you have one and are familiar with how Ito use it I can explain the process.

I went to start my 92 lumina and it wouldn't start... the battery was dead, so I jumped it with a jump box and it was fine... I drove it to the store and back. 2 days later the battery was dead again...

first you half to determine if the alternater is working. you do his by jumping the car and while its running take of the neg cable off to the car if it dies then you know the alternater is not working properly,
if it stays running you know you have a electricalen short you half to trace down
