SOURCE: dual climate control

There is a thing called a blend door, it controls air temp, that is where the problem is, most common issue is the motor that operates the door fails.

BUT hadx to get my system entirely replaced and it ended up costin $700...and now im leakin coolant.....hurray!
anyhow hope i helped......

SOURCE: AC does not work

Check the fuse for the A/C and try refilling the A/C with R134. You can buy the re charge kit at Auto Zone or Wal Mart, almost any Auto parts store. If the system is low on R134 the A/C compressor will not activate to keep it from burning out.
Try checking the fuse first then re charge the system with a can 12oz of R134. Just keep in mind not to over charge the system. Just follow the instruction and you'll be fine.
Keep me posted, be glad to help out.

SOURCE: 1995 Chevy Suburban blows cold once charged then hours later hot

Its a leak ...probably concealed like in an evap housing or rear air unit and lines (if it has that). Prob at this juncture I would remove all the freon and bring system into a vaccuum with a pump and see if it will hold vaccum for an extended period of time. A bad leak will not hold srong vacuum very long and much cheaper than wasting expensive and enviromental un0friendly refrigerants.

SOURCE: driver side heat blows cool air passenger side

Hello. The side that is not operating properly has a bad temp door actuator located up under the dash. I am assuming this vehicle has driver/passenger(dual)climate control heat and cold settings. This is a very common problem on these vehicles. Hope you find this information useful!

Ac not cooling blows hot on both sides. how do i know if compressor is kicking on?

Don't forget the DCCV. those act funny (not ha ha.) you can pinch the middle heater hose to stop hot coolant from entering cabin This will narrow down your issues and if cool air cycles you have diagnosed the problem

My 2002 Expedition air conditioner will sometimes blow hot air and others cold air

I would check the following possibilities:
1. Is compressor clutch working? - You need to do this when the ac is blowing hot air only - locate compressor drive pulley on engine - rubber belt wraps around it. Start engine and set to max ac. When the ac is blowing hot air, look at the center of the compressor drive pulley using a good flash light - watch it for a while, it should be spinning with the pulley - this means the compressor is engaged. If not, the compressor is not engaged. If your ac is blowing hot air, then the compressor should be engaged and running (trying to cool). If it is not engaged, then your compressor clutch is probably going out. Could be low voltage to clutch, but more likely the clutch is worn out and only working some of the time. Note: if working normally, the compressor clutch will engage and disengage in cycles- but the air should always be cold. If clutch is bad, compressor would need to be replaced (sold as one unit). This is tricky to diagnose and could take some time - you need to do it when ac is blowing hot air but set to max cooling.

2. Low on refrigerant or refrigerant has moisture in it? If your ac blows cold initially after being off for a while, then heats up, and continues to regularly cycle back and forth between hot and cool air, then the system may be low on refrigerant or the refrigerant may have moisture in it that is freezing and restricting refrigerant flow. An a/c shop can check refrigerant level and even replace refrigerant if moisture is suspected.

Could be other issues, but I would start with these.

Good luck

Air conditioner not blowing cold air. We put coolant with gauge reading 25 lbs pressure. We think the compressor is coming on. The pipe coming out of the compressor is cool but, the air coming into the car...

Is the air actually blowing into the car?But it's just hot?It sounds like your blower motor is not turning to blow air.you have a fuse, check the switch that controls the blower, and the blower motor it self.

Turned on a/c and it blows hot air. Looked a fuses and they are good.. What esle can I look for? It was working going up hill. At the top cooled down for 3 mins. 2 hours later back on the road turn on a/c...

HI, i recommend checking the following areas for faults.

1. A/C compressor- check to see if the unit is Low On Refrigerant, or Restricted.
2. A/C Clutch- A/C Compressor Clutch May not be engaging as it should. inspect the clutch action by monitoring it during the run cycle.

3. A/C Expansion Valve - You could have a Faulty A/C Expansion Valve, Restricted valve or, a Bad Capillary Tube.

Check the above areas thoroughly. you will find the issue in one or all the areas above.

***Use caution when preforming these checks. you don't want to have an accident.

99 F250 diesel: A/C blows cold (fully

I think what happens is that you're burning out the compressor. If you got the windows down while you're blowing the a/c? it's working over time which is why they have two cycles. The image that displays the circle motion is meant for the windows to be up and the charge will last longer and with the windows down...click the one that shows outside air coming into the car. It might not be as cold as the other option but at least you'll have some cool air while you're at it.

A/C blows hot air

Hi, the first check you will want to do is on the a/c clutch. you want to make sure of its operational value. Turn the engine on and raise the hood. make sure the a/c button and controls are on as if you wanted the air to blow cool. while the a/c is in the on position, inspect the clutch action under the hood. the clutch should click in a cycle. this engages the compressor device. it should cycle on and off in a 3 minute interval. if this compressor clutch is not working and it is not clicking, this will be the main issue. a/c clutch failure.

Now, if the clutch is working and, it is cycling on and off in a quick motion, this Will confirm a low charge state and, you will need to recharge the system with a recharge kit or you can take to the local dealership or mechanic.

Ok, if the system has a good charge and the clutch and compressor are ok, this will confirm compressor failure. if the compressor cant do its job by compressing the refrigerant in a proper manner, it will not cool properly. it will spin but, it will not cool.

You will find the problem in one or all of the areas above. i recommend checking the clutch action first then, go from there. make sure the a/c in-dash switch is working as well. this is a problem spot.

Please rate and have a great ady:)
