1992 Honda Accord LX Automatic stuck in drive, slow to go.

My 1992 Honda Accord LX is slow to go when I hit the gas and the gear shift (automatic) is stuck on drive. I can still shift into other gears and that gear light up but the drive gear also stays lit. What's going on? Any suggestions? Oil changes, transmission fluid's good.

You have an internal transmission failure, have a transmission repair shop look at this and be prepared to have it removed for repair and rebuilding.

SOURCE: 1998 HONDA ACCORD TRANSMISSION

If it is an automatic tranny, i had a similar problem in a 1989 CRX with an auto tranny. Your problem could be your torque converter, You may have knocked it a 1/2in or so when you connected and bolted the motor down to the tranny, in doing so you like i said, budged the torque converter out of its appropiate place. So it may or may not be grabbing like it should.....

If this is the problem, remove the motor from the tranny, (and you might as well replace your seal while at it if you havent), adjust the converter back into place, until it grabs ahold of the tranny, you will feel it, shove it back there. Take note of how it moves and what makes it come out of place, with that in mind, REPUT the tranny back in, bolt it down. Prey thats the problem

SOURCE: Rough shifting automatic transmission on Honda Accord from 1st to 2nd gear

it has a problem with the second gear drum it cracks and does not fully engauge the n shifts to 3rd ..many honda owners also learn the 8 bucks a quart is the only fluid to pour in a honda..but remember 3 qaurts per drain and fill the tranny holds 7q ....it will take a case to do a drain flush...a high pressure flush will ruin a automatic tranny with alot of miles or metal deposits floating around inside..DRAIN AND FILL 3 QUARTS AT A TIME NO GASKET NEEDED ITS BUILT AND DESIGNED LIKE A MANUAL TRANNY

Having automatic shifting problem 1992 honda accord lx 2.2

Sounds like a month or two at most of normal driving before your transmission completely gives up. How many miles are on the vehicle and has the transmission ever been serviced? Also make sure it has enough tranny fluid, as this will cause it not to want to come out of park. good luck.

92 honda accord lx automatic D light blinking wont go forward, all other gears work, i checked fluid

Your transmission shift solenoids(2) are bad or clogged up and may need cleaning. They are bolted onto the outside, front of the transmission. Have them checked out.
