The lower speeds are controlled by a resistor block. That's what needs to be replace. It's usually located next to the blower. It will have electrical wires connected to it. High speed bypasses the block so it alway works.
If you want to replace it then;
) Disconnect the battery negative terminal if the vehicle have air bags. Wait 2 minutes for system to discharge.
) Remove the kick block on the passenger side. )Remve the glove box ) Remove the bolts holding the blower motor resistor. Push the red lock up and press down on the click ) Pull the block out. ) Install new block and reverse steps above.

the cable to trans is maladjusted. check that first.
if trans really is in park then the parking pawl, or lock is damaged deep in the box.

My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee is falling out of park. How do you adjust the automatic transmission shifter to keep it in park?

Bushings on the transmission linkage and possibly adjustments on the linkage. There may be other issues, such as key related release. I don't agree this is a DIY situation. You leave it in park and it rolls down the hill toward a kid in the street?

My 1994 Jeep grand cherokee limited rolls down hill in park. Any help?

check the linkage first to make sure it is going into park first if that doesn't work you may have to get used to using your parking break or spend big money on the transmission

1993 jeep grand cherokee laredo, straight 6 engine. rolls back at times when in park with ebrake on.. bought it used. has a SEVERE case of bouncing speedometer. It would appear the previous owner removed...

Whether you have a drive shaft on or not the roll back is the ebrake not properly working like it should it will need a adjustment,and as for the bouncing speedometer you will need to inspect the cable as they can wear out.
