The coil, one is a constant 12v source, the other is a remote ignition source.
SOURCE: power steering fluid
I would suggest using Valvoline Power steering fluid. It is certified to be used in GM vehicles. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help any further. Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa!

Welcome to Fixya
First thing to check are the fuse of your power door/windows if both are ok. If both are ok, check the power window motor mechanism if is is responding. Run a wire from the positive ground and bypass the power window switch. If mechanism will respond, then you a problem with the switch. Same thing for the power locks. Test the actuator if it is responding.
Let me know if you have further questions.

SOURCE: 1996 chevy 1500 power mirrrors n locks dont work and cant figure out why
The WHY part is very simple. The electrons stored in the battery have to travel from the positive battery post through the "load" (mirrors and locks) and return to the negative battery post. It is not doing that. (YES, it is THAT simple - if you make it any more complicated than that, you will be beating your head against the wall!)
With that said, there are TWO components that these two circuits have in common.
1. The 3 Amp MIR/LOCK fuse located in the Left Bussed Electrical Center which is located under the left side of the dash and
2. the Driver's Window/Lock Switch.
If the fuse is blown, then one of these circuits is shorted and causing the fuse to blow. (If this is the case, you will have to find the location of the short and repair it, or you will only kill another innocent little fuse.) Or there could be a problem with the switch in the driver's door or the wires leading into or out of it, causing an open circuit.
