Please advise where I can locate the cooling system map for my Jaguar, I have become so frustrated with it that I have repaired most of the troubles with great success although I am running a little hot although my sensors are not telling me this it doesnt take a rocket scientist to feel the extreame heat coming from my eng. I would appreciate any help thank you Crystal
The most common problems with the aj26/27 engine cooling system problems 1 thermostat 2 waterpump 3 blocked radiator the cooling temp indicator on the dash defaults to norm unless ther is a serious overheat perhaps its ok as it is if no one has changed any hoses and put in the wrong way then check 1 first then 2 then 3 is the cooling fan coming in al lthe time?thermostat is favorite
SOURCE: what causes the radiator fan
the relay is under theleft side of the front wing i think its green with 5 wires
SOURCE: overheating
yes change out thermostat first easy job 20 mins. that took care of my overheating problem.$15.oo part
SOURCE: My 2001 Jaguar XJ8 seems to run rather hot;
I am not familiar with the light your speaking of (I am assuming a warning light for engine heat?) if she's running warm the thermostate may be failing or stuck in a partially closed/open position.
If the light is an Engine Check light then yes is may be as simple as a faulty fuel cap not holding presure within the tank. You'll note some cars when you open the cap there is a small "huff" of air as the cap is removed.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
