drivers side door is open and stuck in the lock or closed position. How can this be rectified?

  • Anonymous Mar 25, 2014

I cannot open or close the electric windows or lock the door on the drivers side. I checked all known fuses and they are all ok. Where do I go from this point to locate the problem.

Driver side door lock not working, how to fix it?

The door latch maybe the problem. That needs to work properly before the lock actuator will function properly.

2005 mercury mountaineer where is my power window dues box

dues box ? do you mean fuse box . There are fuses for the power windows in the under hood fuse / relay box ! F1.62 30amp fuse an there is a relay in the CJB - central junction block ,located under the driver side dash panel . Accessory delay relay , first one top left in the fuse box. That's a good place to start ! what if fuse an relay are good ? then what ? do you know how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Do any of your windows work ? The best place to start is the drivers door window switch ! All power to all windows come through that switch .The lite blue with black stripe wire is power wire at the switch !

My son held the rear passenger window button in the up position at the same time his mother held the driver side front button in the down position and now all 4 windows do not work at all, up or down. FYI...

If forcing the windows using multiple switches at the same time, and then all the power windows have become inoperative, the drivers side, (master), switch is at fault. (Probably burned out). It is the only switch that has the ability to control all switch functions.

97 Mercury Mountaineer driver side door won't open. Outside handle flops around; inside handle won't open door

Try a slim jim first, down the side of the window. Or AAA or locksmith. If no luck, remove the seat first. Find the screws and bolts around the door handle and arm rest. Most Ford's have screws around the outer side of the panel. I don't believe your's does. The panel lifts or pops off. Once the panel is off, you can reach down and open the door. Just a note. I have done some to where the panel came out in pieces.

Power windows will work on driver side but not passenger side?

motor has probably blown, you'll have to unscrew the inner side of the door to get to this, when you do, it won't be hard to find a working one in a scrapyard.
