First pop the hood and locate the water pump pulley. drain the coolant into a suitable container. there will be alot of it so get a big container.use the correct size socket and loosen the four small bolts on the pulley.DO NOT TAKE THEM ALL THE WAY OUT YET. find the tensioner pulley and put a socket on the bolt and lift the pulley to release the pressure on the fan belt and slip it off the water pump pulley.now remove the bolts from the water pump pulley. now all you have to do is remove the bolts that attach the pump to the engine block. remove the pump and clean the surface of the the engine block where the pump connects to the block. don't scratch the matting surface of the block.oh disconnect the coolant hoses that attach to the water pump.BE CAREFUL THE COOLANT WILL DRAIN OUT OF THE BLOCK AND HOSES. DOGS AND CATS ARE ATTRACTED TO THE COOLANT, IT WILL KILL THEM IF THEY DRINK IT.have fun

SOURCE: I have an 89 Olds 98 Regency. The fuel pump comes

The fuel pump will come on then, shut off when the key is placed in the ON position, this is normal. What is not normal, is when the key is turned to start the engine, and the fuel pump does not run when the engine is running at the same time. The initial power up you hear is a prime function that all vehicles have.

Newbie here! How to install fuel pump on 96 olds regency elite?

You might benefit from the 96 Regency Elite factory service manual purportedly available by a download for $22, if scrolling through pages or using CTRL F to hunt through a PDF is something you are comfortable with. I have no idea if it tells you to check for rust in the fuel tank. https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/281883502-1996-oldsmobile-regency-service-and-repair-manual

The Haynes group is of course more familiar and there seems an aside mention of the 96 being covered in spite of the title. https://haynes.com/en-us/oldsmobile/regency/1997-1998

Regarding videos, I encounter such for the Olds Bravada and the Olds Aurora, both 96 models: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO3QkeMTwP0

I have a 1990 oldsmobile 98 and every day i have to get a boost to start it. what's the problem

it is the automatic load leveler that pumps air into the back shocks to level the car so it rides better when there are lots of people or weight in it. it is in the frontof the car opposite the battery, just disconnect it. had the same problem on my 1990 olds 98.

Need to know where hose under hood goes to allow heat in 1984 Olds Regency 98

there are 2 and there is a heater control valve in one of the lines. One off of the back of t5he intake manifold going to the firewall another off of the front of the engine I think the water pump heading to the firewall. The one off of the intake should be the one with the heater control valve in it
