May be one of several things, most likely cause is the fuel pump, I've replaced so many fuel pumps on the Chevy trucks its crazy. Veh needs more fuel to take off then it does just cruising around you need to have a fuel gauge put on it and test drive it to see what the pressure does when it's acting up, should stay above 48-50 psi. Vehicle will run even as low as 20 PSI but it will be weak..

Helpful tip for the future. Most, not all modern vehicles have the fuel pump sit in a sump in the fuel tank. The fuel that it sits in helps cool the pump. When the vehicle fuel level drops below 1/4 of a tank the pump may no longer be sitting in the fuel, this can cause the pump to overheat and lead to premature failure. General Motors full size trucks and SUV's are very prone to this problem. I have a '93 Silverado with 150,000 + miles on the original fuel pump because I do not run the level low as much as possible. I have replaced dozens of pumps on GM vehicles because the owners do not follow this hint.
