Hey guys. I own a 2013 lancer ES. My remote key fob stopped working because the battery ran out. I replaced the battery and it doesn`t lock and unlock the doors anymore. The fob because its lights come on and a locksmith checked that and it`s definitely working. I checked the WEB and youtube for reprogramming but all the tutorials were for 05-12 models. I also did the manual instructions but nothing happened. The dealership told me they charge me 220 dollars for that. I only have one fob, it is the only i got from the previous owner. Would you plz help me? thanks

SOURCE: lancer key fob not working after new battery?

Chances are, the car may have to be "re-trained" with your key fob. Your best bet here is to take it to the dealer so they can re-train it for you. Before you do that though, make sure there aren't instructions in the owners manual on how to do so.

I hope this helps! :)

SOURCE: The battery in my key fob for my 2004 Mitsubishi

1-insert and remove key from ignition two times

2-close and open driver door two times

3-insert and remove key once from ign.

4-close and open drvr door twice

5-insert key into ign.,then close driver door

6-turn key to on (not start) then off, twice this is rewrite mode, have all remotes to reprogram it will clear any lost remotes.

7-remove key from ignition, the door locks should cycle twice.if not start over.it may take a few tries.

8-press lock/unlock together and hold for a second

9-release,and press lock on remote, the door locks will cycle confirming program.continue to do other remotes you have, steps 8 and 9.if only one in possession, you are done. To end mode open door or insert key into ignition.

You'll need to follow the steps with no more than a 1-2 second delay between each step.. hope it works

The alarm and immobilizer needs to be reset. It is not as straightforward as normal. You may need an auto locksmith.

Keyless remote wont work

Many times if you purchase a used vehicle, the car lot only provides the key because they do not want to spend the money to purchase a key fob. A 2006 Lancer either has a 2 or 3 button keyless entry remote which you can find here: http://replacemyremote.com/

Remote doesn't work

you will need to take it to your deal for a reprogramming or a key cutting guy that has the computer. try the dealer first as they probably won't charge you (if you get a good guy)

Replaced battery now remote start won't work, why?

The fob would need to be reset to the car computer - check your owners manual. On some models you press both keys at the same time.

I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L that has a problem starting. Battery is fine & if you push start it it'll start 4-5 times with the key then not start. Replaced starter and the problem remains

When you start the Lancer, does it actually turn over and start? Or does it sputter while you're pressing the start button?

This is what I would start with. First, I'd find your fuel regulator and follow the vacuum line that leads to the engine - then unplug that. Find some extra tubing or rag that you can replace that plug with to keep it sealed. Then, if you're car starts running, you'll know its just a bad regulator.

If that doesnt work, the second thing I'd try is pulling off the air-intake and spray some brake cleaner in there to see if it will start. If that works, then you have a fuel leak or clog somewhere thats preventing your fuel from reaching the sparkplugs.

Hope this helps-

Hey I have a 91 cb lancer I turn the key to on then to start and all I hear is a click why won't it start what could be the problem

When you turn the key to the "on" position, see if the panel lights come on and try honking the horn too, if everything works it means the battery is fine.

Now, turn the key to start the engine. Does the engine just give out a click? If so, the battery terminals may be loose. Tighten the terminals leading to the battery posts with the correct tools and try turning the key once again.
