you probably pulled the rod off of the handle lever. once you get into the truck. take off your inner door panel and re connect those rods. there should be 3 screws on the bottom of the inner door panel. remove those and then lift the panel up and out.

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

Pull the door panel off and inspect the door latch, it is most likely defective.

You can open up the inside panel of the door and adjust the tension in the cable that opens the door from the outside handle.

I have a 2002 land rover discovery and my passenger front door won't unlock with the interior lock button on the dash or with the key fob. The only way to unlock the door is to pull the handle on the inside of the door. Is the actuator bad?

Same problem. I have a 2000 Suzuki Esteem GL. A year ago the driver's door handle broke. Heard a sound and then it was loose. Could not open it from outside. Had to open front passenger door, open the driver's door from inside and then go out again to enter from the driver's door. FRUSTRATING. My mechanic had to take the door apart to fix it. Just a week ago, my front passenger door died on me. Can't open it from outside nor inside. The door won't open. This is such a stupid problem that costs lots to repair. Never will buy a Suzuki again. Had too many problems with it (had to fix gas tank, doors that won't open, front axle...).

You might need new pins and bushings for the door, which cost under 15.00 if it is starting to stick. If the door will not open at all, check your inside door handle. Is there any tension when you pull on it? or does it pull really easy? If it pulls really easy, you will need to take the door panel off and see if the door rods are still in place. Sometimes they can come loose and need to be put back in. Or they could be broken. Either way, these are easy fixes, just take to the nearest auto body shop or mechanic shop to do so.
