98 Grand Caravan Sport oil light and Warning Bell

I got my engine replaced and after that, the oil light is on constantly, and when ever i come to a stop, the warning bell comes on. i can make it stop by putting it in neutral or park and rev it up. i want to know how to disconnect the alarm because its very annoying and agitating.
thanks
Patrick

i took the van into the shop and asked to check for loose rods or rockers, and they said there was no sludge or anything. so its not mechanical hopefully. so about the sensors though. how do i check those? is it just he oil pressure sensor you think? could it be distributing it wrong into the crank case?
or could i just put a thinker oil in. its got around 150k and im putting 10w-40 right now with a bunch of this lucas stuff to make it thicker, but what about a thicker type like 20w-40. what would that do?
    and another question.
my a/c and air duct closer(the one that prevents bad air into the car) LED's are blinking all the time. i tried a calibration test by pressing the Wipers, and Washers buttons for 5 seconds with all the right preperations, but i dont know what to do after that, whether i have to calibrate it manually or whether thats done by itself. none of the failure codes poped up, but when i aborted the test after the third time performing the it, the lights still blink. is there any way of getting those to stop?

its not a used engine. its the original engine but basically with all new parts. im thinking the codes just need to be erased from when all oem parts were on it...or is that not how it works??

oh and do you have an answer to the Air Conditioning LED's Blinking?

My friend that alarm is telling you u have low oil pressure, do you want to destroy the new engine?? Find out if the eng really has low oil pressure, it may just be a defective oil press sending unit causing the alarm, have the press checked with a mechanical guage or just replace the sender and see if that cures the issue, the alarm is part of the Body Control Module and can't be disconnected.

I didn't realize you put a used engine in the van, do the replacement of the oil light sending unit, then if the problem of the low pressure warning still persists you do have low press and the engine is on it's way out.

Engine light is not switching off while driving

Run fault codes to find out what put the engine light on. Replace or repair asap as it is telling you that something serious has happened to the engine management systems. Check oil level and coolant level at the radiator. To ignore a warning light is an invitation to expensive disaster.

How do I stop and/or turn off the low oil pressure alarm

You need to verify that the oil pressure is within spec first. If it is then the sending unit is probably oil soaked and faulty. Unplug the sending unit and jumper the terminals together. The bell should go out.
Replace the sending unit.

Oil light constantly comes on and bell rings after a few minutes of driving. I changed oil and oil sensor .where is oil pump located?

the oil pump will be inside the oil pan. could be a weak pump or the pick-up tube may be partially clogged.

The oil light keeps coming on with a bell

If your oil gauge if you have one reads good pressure, more then likely you have a bad sensor, if you just have an oil light, take it to a repair shop where they can do an oil pressure test. Have it check, low oil pressure can cause major engine damage.

Dodge caravan '98, oil light on, plenty of oil

If the engine is not making any knocking type noises, check the oil pressure sending unit. If it is leaking oil then it needs to be replaced along with removing the rubber plug from the connector and cleaning the terminals. If the oil light still comes on then the oil pressure is definately low and could cause engine failure.

Oil warning light goes on, but plenty of oil

An RED OIL LIGHT on your dash, means a LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE. Has nothing to do with HOW MUCH OIL IS ON THE DIPSTICK. Now , does it just flash for a couple of seconds, or is it on steady ? Is there any engine noise ? Hope this helps

It has to come out the bottom. Easiest to drop the trans out first.

Transmission Not Going into Overdrive

First check and make sure the fluid is full. The most likely cause is a failed solenoid pack. Circuit codes normally mean something electrical not mechanical has failed. The solenoid pack is on the outside of trans pretty easy to replace.
