1999 dodge intrepid "99,000miles" will not pass emissions test

The mechanics and the Dodge dealer told me to continue driving it through the cycle. I've put over 1000 miles but the sensors are still not ready. No trouble codes or check engine light and nothing wrong with the car. The mechanics have replaced the sensors anyway but still not ready. Catalyst, 02 sensor, H02 sensor and EGR system. Please any help...

Just maybe your O2 sensors are not operating properly. They may be requiring your engine to heat them up to get upper temperature readings but not lower. You can easily diagnose these and all other sensors and problems by purchasing a Hains manual at your local Auto Zone or Advance auto store which will greatly aide you in diagnosing all your auto needs. And the fault symptom index at the beginning of the book will ease your troubles with professional one on one advice with step by step instructions. Its like having your own ASE certified mechanic at your finger tips. Good luck.

My 2001 dodge intrepid failed emissions says due o excessive of readiness monitors 'Not Ready'

you must not clear codes or unhook battery after doing what they call a drive cycle which resets monitors to a ready state. http://www.lhforums.net/forums/showthread.php?2755-OBD-II-and-your-Next-State-Inspection

SMOG TEST OBD-11 NOT READY

Generally speaking, the truck has to be driven at least 100 miles in various driving conditions including highway and city driving and at full operating temp. The mechanics are correct in saying there is nothing they can do to trick the system into thinking this has happened.
If 100 miles did not do it you may have to drive 2 or 3 hundred miles then try the test.
The purpose of the computer being "ready" is having used and tested all of the emission components for problems. Once the vehicle is driven far enough for the computer to use all of the components, and no trouble codes are set, the test is passed.
Even if you normally only drive in the city you still have to log 50 or 60 miles on the highway to satisfy the requirement for the engine computer.
