Dashboard lights on 2002 ford taurus lx are out in speedometer area, need to know which fuse to replace or other solution to fix problem

The indicator lights lights come on when igniton key is turned on but not at the speedometer. radio lights are on .

CHECK CLUSTER FUSE.IF FUSE IS GOOD.YOU HAVE FAULTY CLUSTER OR LOOSE GROUND WIRE.IF TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR STAY ON YOU HAVE FAULTY FLASHER.

make sure the dimmer is turned all the way up.If it is and still no lights,the dimmer is bad.

You have a bad connector or wire. Use a multimeter to check the wire and connectors from both lights. My bet is on the wire.

How do I fix the speedometer on a 2002 Ford Taurus
What's wrong? If it's not working, the first thing I would check is the speed sensor - Hook up a scanner to the OBD2 connector under the dash, take it for a test drive, and see if you're getting the vehicle speed on the scanner.

If you're getting a reasonable vehicle speed indication, then you probably have either
A: a bad speedometer, or
B: a shorted/open connection between the speed sensor and speedometer.

If you don't have a scanner, see if a friend has one, or MAYBE a part store assistant will be willing to help you out.

Replace the fuse. Most of the time when the tail light fuse is blown it will go un-noticed. This is why they combine the instrument cluster lighting, and tail lights on the same fuse. That way if the dash lights are out you know the tail lights must be out also.

The dash lights and tail lghts are usually on the same fuse. If you have tail lights, it could be the switch. Are sure you don't have the dash fully dimmed?

My nephew has a 96 taurus also when his radio went out he noticed that his speedometer was not working as well so we check the fuses under the dashboard and found that a fuse from the radio memory was blown . We replaced it and the radio and speedometer and the odometer worked fine
