1999 chevy blazer fuel problem

Got a 1999 chevy blazer. 4.3 v6 vortex. Once its started it will start fine. But after sitting a few hours it won't start. Its not getting fuel. If I pour gas into throutle body it will start and drive fine . When running it drives fine not slugish or anything. I put a fuel pressure test on valve on fuel rail were it goes to test it. It should read 60 to 66psi. But it read 56psi . And continoued to drop pressure very slowly once done . Since it is low does that mean fuel pump is bad or fuel pressure regolater. How do i test fuel pressure regulator. Not sure fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. Already checked fuel lines fuel filter all good.

Probably not fuel filter . probably going to have to remove the upper intake and replace the fuel injector spider(fuel inj assebly) if it is droping fuel pressure it is leaking into the upper manifold

Why the engine starts, runs about 5 second, dies and then won't start, if you wait 10 minutes it starts and runs fine, this happens once every few weeks/months or twice in one day, no set pattern. hav

I saw what you replaced, didn't see any testing? What testing have you done? Make sure battery has a full charge?
When the problem is ongoing, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes?
If you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems.

You may be having an intermittent failure with the fuel pressure regulator - checking the fuel pressure when the truck won't start may pinpoint this problem. If the pressure looks OK, this same problem can be caused by the ignition system as well (ignition coil or control module).

1999 blazer only starts when primed and then wont start after sitting

Black smoke is usually extra fuel, but you say you are priming it to start so that could be why.
Have you checked fuel pump pressure before and after cranking ?
