It can be the fuse link from the battery which could have failed and so will not power the igntion circuit. Please use a multimeter to trace the +12 to the fuse box and from the Ignition circuit.
Make sure the GROUND connection is good from the battery to the chassis.

It is possible that if your old alternator was shorted out, it could have caused the main fuse to blow. The fuse is located in the engine compartment fuse box. It is an 80 Amp fuse and sits off to the right - all by itself. (See picture)

NOTE: There is also a chance that there is something else wrong that may have caused this fuse to blow. If it blows again upon replacing it, you need to inspect the wire that runs between this fuse and the alternator - it may be shorted to ground. If this is the case, you probably did not need to replace your alternator.

SOURCE: my car was running fine yesterday and this morning

Check for spark and fuel. When you turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump in the tank for a few seconds till the pressure builds up. When you crank the engine there should be spark at the plugs.

SOURCE: the car won't start; lights,

Check the starter and the starter relay or fuse. A client of mines car was doing the same thing, it ended up being two issues, the starter not working anymore, and a relay that was bad. If I am not mistaken everything should be labeled in the fuse box under the hood and will tell you where the fuse/ relay is for your vehicle

SOURCE: 2001 aurora won't start at all. Hook batery

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

I was wondering if you could give me some things to check on my van won't start and we tried jumping it. The lights all come on with full charge . So I was wanting to know if there is a reset button...

if u unplug your battery for acouple hours it will reset youre ecu/cpu. (everything) does it turn over? or absolutly nothing? if nothing sometimes ur battery loses so many electrolytes it can't retain a charge therefore jumping won't help. new battery first step! local junkyards probably have a good battery for $20. Let me know if this helps.
