Remove hose leaving the power steering bottle, drain bottle, turn the power steering full left then right, take the time to let it drain.

Power stering pump 2008 f150

You will need basic hand tools. First take off the serpentine belt. Unhook the high and low pressure lines, they should be toward the rear of the pump. Remove the four bolts securing it to the engine. Replace the pump and make sure to refill fluid.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power srering fluid turned clay color

Yes, this is a problem. The clear power steering fluid is a mineral oil base and the red Lucas additive is petroleum base. Your car uses the red petroleum base, which is actually Dexron ATF (automatic transmission fluid). Lucas is great stuff, the person at the parts store just doesn't know their stuff. You need to flush the system to save your pump from going out very prematurely.

Power stering, changed the pump but still not

The whole power-steering assembly itself is the next thing to look at. I think it is defective, and could be replaced for a rebuilt one.

My car power stering light comes on and then the wheel is hard to

this system can be tested for codes, I would suggest you have the dealer do this test, all the parts are very expensive so guessing is not a good idea. most probale cause is a wheel motion sensor on the steering column.

Power stering 1999 GMC SUBURBAN

1. Air could still be on your power steering system after you replaced your pump.
2. There could be another reason why your having a hard time turning your steering wheel, have your steering linkages, camber, alignment checked, so as to prevent breaking yor new pump again
thank you for choosing fixya!
