My brake lights dont work but the tail lights come on when I turn on the headlights.

I changed the brake lights a few days ago but they still don't work. The tail lights still work.

Check fuses first. Should be a fuse labeled 'Stop' or 'Brake'.

If fuses are good, climb under the dash and look at the brake switch, it's high up on the brake lever. Make sure it is operated by pressing in the brake pedal.

SOURCE: 1996 Honda Accord Problem

I cannot get my air conditioner clutch on my 1996 Honda Accord EX to engage. I've checked the fuse and relay. The fuse is good but the power is not going to the relay. If I can find the power that comes to the relay, I can fix it. I need to know what activitate the relay and the power that the relay push to the clutch. I need to know where they come from.

I've been looking for a circuitry that shows it and a drawing that shows the air conditioning fan. Please help.

SOURCE: Tail lights n dash lights dont work

Lets start with is this a sedan/coupe or wagon?, does the car have any body damage? Fuse 32 in the underhood fuse box is for the license, parking, sidemarker, and taillights. (The turnsignals and brake lights are on a seperate circuit). There is a short to ground somewhere in the circuit. To narrow it down , if the car was damaged somewhere, look in that area. Aside from that you need to isolate the short by disconnecting connectors in the circuit. If it is a sedan, I have seen damaged wiring in the trunk on the drivers side up where the trunk hindge is. It gets pinched by the trunk hindge. It would be the red/black wire.
Let me know if that helps, Hond Al

if the cables were put on wrong yes..since it sounds like you are not mechanically proficient, go to a shop that specializes in auto electrical..they should be able to fix fairly inexpensively(cheaper than the dealer)..

I have no tail lights

I had this very same problem on a GM truck at work the other day, I believe it to be a bad headlight switch because I cycled the switch between headlight and parking light positions, I had tails when I had the switch in the parking light position and not in the headlight position, changed the switch and everything worked, Made my day!

On 2002 jeep laredo brake lights dont turn on if lights arent on

That does not make any sense. Do the tail lights work? There are supposed to be separate filaments for brake lights, tail lights, and turn signals. In particular the center brake light should not be possible to be confused with tail lights or signals. Does it come on? If not, then you probably have no brake lights at all, and that is probably because of the bad fuse or the switch on the brake pedal for the brake lights.
If there is some sort of cross over between tail light and brake lights, that is usually from a bad light socket ground; which results in current backing up from one system to another. But then each is usually only half brightness.

Tail lights and brake lights not working with headlights on

We had the same problem with ours, that is a Saturn recall items. Check with your Saturn dealer to see if it is still in effect. It use to make our headlight switch get hot. I think it was a poor ground in the taillight housing, I use to wiggle the bulb plug-ins and that helped for a while, but after the recall was fixed it never did it again.
