Hi, first off, an alternator would never cause clicking. It would wear the battery down pretty fast if it is bad which would cause the click if it was the battery. If the car clicks once, then that is usually the sign of a stuck solenoid. However, if what you are describing is multiple clicks, then that means the battery is not sending enough juice to the solenoid to start the car. The three things that usually is: Low/dead battery. Autozone can check and charge that for free. Takes about an hour. Next, loose battery cables or just dirty terminals where they attach. You can clean them with baking soda but if they look good and are securely tightened, then my guess would be that the cables aren't the problem. Lastly, your solenoid may be going bad on the starter.

What I would do: Test and charge battery fully, clean the terminals if necessary and then secure the cables tightly. After doing that, it should work. If not, then move on to your starter. AutoZone once again can test that for free as well as your alternator if your battery keeps dying pretty fast.

This can be due to a weak battery. The Antitheft can sometimes create starting problems by interferring with the starter. The Antitheft senses the Voltage drop as a theft attempt and reduces the starter Voltage in an attempt to keep you from starting the vehicle.

You can get a free test at Autozone, Oreilys, and Advance. Some will instal a battery free.

SOURCE: 1996 JGC stalls and won't start for a few minutes

Security system is "anti theft system...If you have one, you must be aware of it. If you read other posts, you will see that a large number of no-start or strange problems generally end up being related to malfunctions related to that. In order to diagnose these systems which are basically small computer based modules, one can either guess and possibly find a problem such a loose connection or whatnot, or computer based systems testing can be done. I would suggest that you check body grounds for good clean connections and do a wiggle test on harnesses to see if you can isolate a particular wire or connector that needs attention. Some larger parts stores do free code tests. This may help to determine if any vital ignition or fuel systems are showing faults. Security systems are not the only thing that can cause a problem, just the most common. You may find an item such as the crankshaft sensor which is generating a code. Turning the key may have little to do with the problem but is just taking up time necessary for the sensor to cool down. These items are not user friendly, so other than those basic items, there isn't much you can really do without any training.I hope my answer isn't too complex but the systems are complex as is diagnosis.

My 2003 x5 bmw 4.6is, makes a knocking noise in the Engine upon stating it up, but usually goes away after a few seconds.

Sounds like excess bearing clearance, when the engine sits overnight the oil between the bearings and the crankshaft is able to run back into the oil pan. When you first start it up it takes a few seconds for the oil pump to fill the spaces back up and you get some clatter.

Friend, you've changed everything but the right thing. The temperature sending unit. It tells the computer to go into cold start mode to start the engine by putting more fuel into the engine. If this sensor is erratic, sometimes don't work, it will cause a hard start situation if not in cold start mode. Dealer cant find this because it's a manual thing and may not be showing up on his tester.

When cold in mornings when back up then shift into

Every car needs a heating engine time specially when its cold, I recomend like about 5 to 10 minutes after you start engine and before you change from P to D. If you try to start the engine first time in the morning, it's cold outside and you immediately go on run you are going to have this trouble every time. Every engine has it's operational standard temperature a 5 to 10 minutes working engine, car stopped, may guaranty this standard temperature and optimal function conditions, and also keeps a longer life of your car.

Good luck

Noisey injectors

im not entirely sure on injectors but i do know that engines need time to warm as the internal parts are made slightly smaller than they shud be to allow for heat expansion so when you start in a cold morning this could just be the case

BMW 318i wont start engine

I would have the battery tested. When they get cold they get weak. Next I would look at the wires on the starter to see if their loose.
