SOURCE: my 1992 lexus sc300 pasenger side mirror is loose

there is a small screw on bottom side . sometimes you can snug it up some. very tight spot.

try moving in the up/down postions with you hand...could have debris jamming the gears inside.

could be a loose connector in the power bezel. pop it off and check the connectors.

hello george... that mirror's internal cam is broken. the dealer is correct in saying that it has to be replaced. that said, I would recommend replacing it with a mirror from a used auto parts place, or an aftermarket mirror. price both by going to a body shop as they have all of those phone contacts. within just a couple of minutes they will tell you the cost of each option.
