My check engine light is on and had the codes read says a P1682 what does that mean?
Low battery voltage during cranking (less than 10 volts) Check your battery health, and/or associated leads to battery.
Possibly a bad earth either. Has any mechanical work been don on the car recently?
Ok, sorry about the delay.
When you look at your battery, you have two terminals. One Positive (+) one negative (-). The negative is connected to the chassis of the car. If you have changed the battery, i wonder did the fault clear for a few days. The reasoning behind this question is, if id did clear, is it possible that some electrical part of the car (windows, locks boot lights radio etc...) could be switching on while the car is off and is just draining the battery charge a bit...
I was suggesting you could check the battery cables, and follow them to the engine (if you have a wiring diagram) and see if there are any shorts (ie cable insulation broken down, this would apply to the positive). Normally, the starter motor is connected directly to the battery, and the the ignition controls the switching through electronic control units .
from some research, i see there has been a technical service bulletin for this issue with chevy, and their solution is to reprogram the ECU. They would just download a newer version of firmware to the control unit. This would be carried out by a main dealer. If you purchased the car new, and maintained in the dealer network, this would have been carried out during servicing (well that is the theory anyway!!!!!). If it has been serviced privately, this may have not happened.
If you know an electrician or auto electrician, you could get them to test your battery voltage, and possibly check for current draw also.
I would presume form the fault the car is not starting at all, or some of the time.

Most of the time they mean:
p0441 = Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow
p0422 = Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected
(small leak)

Code p0102, on either the 3.4 or 3.8 (3800) v6 engine is a problem in the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF). If any work has been done to it just prior to this code, then you need to make sure the air cleaner, duct work, breather tubes, etc. are properly connected and not loose. If that is OK, then may have a bad, or dirty sensor.

Even check the coolant sensors. I had a sensor that went bad and it was seeping by the sensor. Another problem can be the plastic coolant flange that goes onto the head. They can crack, especially if the hose has been changed or pressed on while doing other maintenance. If the engine has been overheated the flange can also melt enough to allow coolant to seep out. Sometimes these only leak when the engine is hot and pressure has built up in the cooling system. Try using a web search engine using the codes.
