The adjusment toggle switch on the driver side door panel is not functioning properly. The vertical adjustment is tempermental but works for both driver side and passenger side. The right horizontal adjustment works for both driver side and passenger side, but needs to be "massaged" to make contact. The left horizontal adjustment ("out" for driver side and "in" for passenger side) doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions or remedies?

Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...

Replace the Driver side window switch. These have a corrosion issue.

no the door pannel does not need to come off but there is a triangle shaped plastic trim pannel above the door pannel that needs to be removed to access the mounting bolts.

Aside from the fuses, your drive side power door lock may be failing to work because of a bad door-lock relay system, or, alternatively, the locking switch/button, itself, is not malfunctioning and in need of replacement.
A great handyman site that specifies the above probable causes and more is the following link:

Good luck!

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
