SOURCE: my 1995 mercedes S500 idles rough, and no power.

I had a similar problem with my 1994 S420.
Before taking it to the shop check the following:
Distributor covers, Rotors and Spark Plugs. That's what my car needed. Before I did it two "specialized" MB mechanics wanted to replace the engine wiring harness ($1,000.00) and the other wanted to replace Air mass sensor, throttle valve actuator ($2,000.00) I hope that's all you need.

This code is for the emission control system on the engine known as the "Air Injection Reactor" it helps to burn up any unburned fuel that is in the exhaust as it leaves the engine, it is an electric air pump and is turned on and off by the computer known as the "PCM" and the electric motor that drives the air pump is a common failure. The secondary air injection pump is sold as a complete assembly. this is the complete description from the book as well as possible causes.
P0411 - Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected P0411 Description An air pump is used on the vehicle to lower tail pipe emissions on start-up. The Powertrain Control Module PCM grounds the Air pump relay control circuit which energizes the Air pump. The PCM also grounds the Air combination valve vacuum control solenoid circuit, which energizes the Air vacuum control solenoid. Vacuum is then applied to both Air combination valve diaphragms which opens the shut off valves. The PCM enables both circuits simultaneously when Air system operations id desired. When the AIR system is active, then Air pump forces fresh air into the exhaust stream in order to accelerate catalyst operation. The AIR combination valves replace the conventional check valves. When the AIR system is inactive the shut off valves prevent air flow in either direction. Possible causes - Vacuum hoses damaged.
- Air Pump inoperative.
- Air bypass solenoid circuit open.
- Air bypass solenoid leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed.
- Air diverter valve leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed.

Car acts like it runs out of gas

Hi: Try changing the fuel filter, Also check the gas tank vent, when it stalls loosen the gas cap and try to start it again it may not be lack of fuel but when you open the cap you are reliving the vacuum from the tank, after you close the cap the vacuum will build again. It can also be the gas cap if it is vented. Good Luck /AL

87 Nova sounds like it wants to stall when I let off the gas

Could be the catalytic converter problem, especially if you smell a rotten egg smell. If not, it is a gas problem. Gas filter, Carburetor or fuel pump. Let me know if decide to get rid of it.

Stalling And Engine Revving

Sounds like a transmission problem. My car was doing that and it turns out it had a transmission fluid leak that had led to major transmission damage. The bad news: the entire transmission had to be rebuilt.

1993 honda civic

Try checking the snorkel tube between the air cleaner and the intake. Open the hood, and have a friend try to rev the engine, and watch the tube...my '92's was collapsing and starving the engine, couldn't get more than 3500-4000 rpm. Could also be a fuel pump problem like low pressure or bad line.
