SOURCE: automatic gearbox won't engage any gear

if the fluid is full then the only thing it can be is either the trans range selector switch, the trans computer or a mechanical failure in the trans, u will need the system tested for any stored trouble codes.

Doubt it as the fault suggests you need to look into the range sensor. If similar to Renault there is a switch on the gearbox that senses where the select lever is (at the gearbox end). If the display is wrong then the sensor needs looking at and either it will need to be adjusted into a set position by moving it, or perhaps the connector to it or wiring to/from it have a fault.

Audi a 4 automatic 1.8 station wagon non turbo, I did a service on the gearbox but couldn't find the right filter and so I put in the old filter.so the car is not moving forward anymore, only reverse

You may have disturbed the wires to the shift solenoids when you had the pan off. Using the old filter may be restricting the fluid flow so not enough pressure is building to operate the forward gears.

No reverse gear automatic gearbox freelander

Have the car scanned by a transmission shop for transmission related fault codes (not all generic scanners will read trans codes) you may have a bad solonoid in the trans valve body?

REVERSE INHIBIT
If the vehicle exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h) in the forward direction, and Reverse (R) gear is selected, the EAT ECU switches on the low clutch timing solenoid valve in the valve block, which drains the fluid from the reverse clutch.
This function prevents the gearbox from engaging reverse gear when the vehicle is moving in a forward direction, so preventing damage to the gearbox We Are Here To Help !Donald Deane MCSE,ASE,CPO

Audi 500e 1992 model 5 cylinder automatic not chaning gears In drive it pulls away in 3 then does not change forward or gears down

This could be stuck in what is sometimes called "limp Home Mode"
I have found a common problem is the earth wire from body to engine has stopped making a good contact so take lead off and make sure both ends are clean from dirt oil etc and make a good connection on surfaces with a wire brush or sand paper and reattach
Good Luck :)
