Flickering lights on 2001 Chevy tracker

Okay so it doesn't do it all the time but while driving my headlights, dashlights, anything will flicker as I'm driving. Stops while in park and just idling, but will start again when driving.
But as background info. There was a short in the wires when it was first bought that Chevy took care of. and There is currently a short from a fan that blows a fuse for my AC....THOUGHTS????!!!!!11

I have the same flickering headlights\dash lights issue and all I can see on the web is BAD ALTERNATOR. I will now have more info when I go to the shop. My Check Engine light came on a few days ago and I have ignored it until now. Thanks for the help folks!

I have the same problem on an 02 Tracker. I went in for an oil change, and had them check my alternator, battery and starter. They said it was all fine except for my battery. I replaced the battery, and the problem has improved, but is still there a little. Should I have the alternator checked again after I've replaced the battery? Thanks!

I had similar problems, with dash board lights and headlights flickering, and the problem was a dying alternator. After I changed it, everything got back in normal. Also, a bad alternator eventually will kill your car's battery, too. I hope this will help you.

Lights flicker while driving

bad electrical connection somewhere, check all grounds espically from battery to frame. Check for a ground from lights to frame or body. Bad connection somewheres, might be one of the "search till you find it" type repairs.

I have a 2005 chevrolet silverado my dashlights and headlights are strobing how do i fix them?

Are you having problems with headlights or interior lights flickering or dimming for no apparent reason? You are not alone! Many other consumers have reported experiencing the exact same problem. The problem is seen in many different GM makes and models including, but not limited to: Chevy Suburban, Tahoe, Silverado, Corvette, Camaro, Firebird and Malibu's and Pontiac Aztek's.
Why Are My Headlights Flickering? The headlight flickering or dimming may be caused by a intermittent low voltage output from engine vibrations. When this occurs, a voltage spike causes the voltage regulator to reset. During the reset, generator output drops to almost zero. This is a known issue with GM cars and the correction involves replacing the alternator. Would recommend seeing dealer for proper alternator application to resolve concerns. Probably has a superceded part number to indicate internal changes.
