It should only be dealt with not just certified mechanic but electronics expert at volkswagen itself. in this case i want to say, it needs Light Procedure reset! or priority reset. Mainly it is a code error in the jetta!
Hope it helps.

SOURCE: where is located the ac fuse for a vw jetta 2001?
There is an under the hood fuse block where most fuses are located. There should be a diagram on the underside of the lid that explains what fuse is what. It also might be located on the drivers side of the dash in the door jam. German's like to use little pictures so look for something that resembles A/C and check if any of the fuses are blown.

You need to either have the dealer reset it or you can do it if you have VAG-COM. Vag-Com is a piece of diagnostic software that uses a special cable to hook up to your car. You can read/clear codes among a ton of other things. It's very common for VW guys to have. Much easier than going to the dealer if you can find someone close to you. The guys over at www.tdiclub.com are always more than willing to help out a fellow VWer. There is a list of guys with the software - you can actually do a search to see if there's anyone near you. www.vagcomlocator.com or go to www.tdiclub.com

It's your clockspring. It's inside your steering wheel, underneath the airbag. Controls the electrical connection to your airbag and horn.
