Eatc code 1249

I have 01 Signature series town car that AC is not blowing cold. Mechanic can get compressor to run and work when puts power to it. The under hood AC sensors also check out. Blend door operates in that when set to floor blows floor defrost=defrost, etc. But, something is keeping compressor from kicking in and when I run self test on control unit, I get code 1249 blend door actuator short. I am little confused since the blend door is responding to changes requested for air flow. Anyone have experience or ideas? It is hard to get to part so need to be confident before take dash apart to get to it.

Get freon.. I had to do this, just make sure to use the right tip, or you will get frost bite.

SOURCE: Need to know the location of the AC blend door motor on my 1987 Lincoln Town Car, and how to replace it? Is it easy? Also, the same with replacing the Auto Temp Control Sensor. It could be either or?

Your blend air door is vacuum controlled. There is a control servo assembly and there is a temperature sensor for the automatic climate control.

The sensors fail a lot. you may have to replace the sensor and recalibrate your system. To replace the sensor assembly, you must remove the dash pad. Then disconnect the cable control, the amient air hose, the vacuum hoses and the 2 screws that hold the sensor.

Otherwise you could have a bad servo assembly or a broken blend-air door. If you want to replace the blend air door, you must remoe the HVAC housing from under the dash to replace it.

The compressor in my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4x4 turns on and off while parked. It blows very cold air while driving, but blows hot and cold air while parked. To hot to sit in the truck while...

the ac system needs air through the condenser ( radiator bit in front of the radiator) to operate correctly. IT it has no air then the compressed gas is to hot and will not turn to liquid and so the high pressure switch turns of the ac compressor. No problem when you are moving as road speed provides the air flow. Get an electric fan and have it installed before the condenser and connect it to the ac compressor circuit so that it is running all the time you have the ac compressor running. not the local mechanic. When dealing with ac systems the best people to take it to is an accredited ac specialist shop

Compressor or control switch? So i have a 2002 nissian altima and the ac stopped worker, i took it to two different mechanic shops and got two different answers. i have no desire to take it to a third...

your friend should be able to check the switch with a multimeter to see if it is good it could also be your hot & cold dial and not the control panel but on some models you have to change the whole panel if the car is blowing hot air hotter than the outside temperature it could also be the door actuator in the dash that is not openning & closing correctly allowing the hot air from your heater core to mix with your cold air from your a/c

I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. It blows air, but not cold air when AC is engaged. We put a test light on the AC clutch, no power. We swapped fuses and fuse relays, still not results. Not sure...

Low or no refrigerant will keep the compressor from getting power to prevent damage to the compressor. I would make sure the system has freon in it first.

AC doesnt blow air all the time. I'll start it up no air, turn the car off and restart, blows air, doesnt do all the time. 2002 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series.

check the plug harness for blower motor, under hood on passenger side. I've had several town cars have that as the culprit when the air works intermittedly!
