Car was running like it was losing power so I thought it was the spark plugs...... After getting them changed it the shop car began to run harder and began sputtering..... i immediately returned to the shop where they performed a Diagnostic and i was told that 2 of my cylinders werent firing.... i also was told that I may need a new ECM computer..... So the computer was priced at $550!?!?!?! and then they said if the computer doesnt make the injectors "jump" they can replace them at $100 an injector.... So Im just wondering if i get this performed is it guranteed the car will run or should i just go with a Engine swap!?!?!?!?! Thank you for reading and please respond
So you get an engine swap and nothing has changed so what are you going to do then--get a car swap
first up find yourself an accredited service center and have the fault codes read properly
if the ECM is faulty-prove it by substituting it with a known good unit but I doubt that it is
do you know which 2 cylinders were not firing or were you just told that
were any injectors tested
was the fuel pressure tested
the only guarantee that you will get is that you will be wasting money unless you get facts on what to fix first

Mine had a similar problem, there is a wire that goes from the computer to the fuel rail and this wire sends info on how much fuel and when to inject the fuel... if that wire is grounding out then this will cause the lack of cylinders to fire and also explain the inconsistency. So i would start with the fuel rail..hope this is of some help
SOURCE: Runs good with ecm un-plugged in, but when plugged in runs rough
Static timing should be 10 deg btdc you can check that timing when you disconect the tan/black trace wire there should be a weatherproof connector for this wire near the Left hand inner skirt this wire is called the set timing connector and when disconnected stops the ecm from adjusting the timing.

sounds like the injector got stuck close because of sitting so long....take em out and cleasn them up real good an try that it should work make ensure the wires have a good solid connection and no bent pins.
