Check and replace you coolant temp sensor. had a similar issue in mine.

Check your engine coolant sensor. Problems with the Digifant system as fitted to your engine are mostly because of a bad earth cable on the top of the transmission and the coolant temp sensor. The sensor sits on the coolant flange. Follow your top radiator hose to the engine. Where it connects in the middle of the head on top of that flange is the coolant temp sensor. Replace that and you should be sorted.
