sounds like your engine is on its last leg. have you checked you push rods the could be bent usually due to over heating or a rocker arm is bad and valves sticking, or timing is wrong

My 1994 ford ranger splash,4.0 it will start then dies. i have replaced about everything i can think of,can anyone help me?

Have you checked/replaced the IAC (idle air control) solinoid? Also check for any major vacuum leaks, if one is large enough to stop the engine from running it should be audible. Have someone start the truck and listen for sucking air. And you may also have an issue with the PCM (powertrain control module) all three of these are known commen issues along with some parts you've already replaced * assuming there known good parts.

1994 Ford Ranger 4.0 cranks runs about 1 to 1 1/2 minute and cuts off.

There are 2 relays in the relay box that could cause this problem the EEC relay and the FUEL pump relay the best test for EEC relay back probe the throttle position sensor for the 5 volts reference signal run engine and watch to see if you lose this voltage. and fuel pump relay install a fuel pressure gauge to fuel rail service port and check to see if pressure drops to zero.

88 Ford Bronco II My truck spits an sputters when idling sometimes after it sits for a few minutes ive changed the fuel filter a couple months back the Idle air control valve & Throttle Position...

The only experience I have had like this was a 94 sunbird. It idled bad sometimes it would die out at stop signs but once you go up to speed it seemed to run fine. I changed plug wires and problem went away. If check engine light is on check the code. I never had a check engine light.

I have a 1989 ford bronco with a 302 that ideals up and down and dies out when park in red light

A number of things could be the problem here:
  1. Bad plugs - fouled plugs would cause erratic idling
  2. Bad wires - also would cause erratic idling
  3. Bad or worn distributor cap
  4. Bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor
  5. Bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor - this controls the idling speed under all conditions. A bad TPS would idle fine under certain conditions ie engine cold, engine warm with AC on etc but could be bad when truck is warm and at a stop.

Car sputters or dies when idling, but starts fine.

I suspect you have an idle circuit issue. When the thottle is closed, the throttle valve is almost closed (like 95%). The linkage on the throttle body is against the hard stop.
SO, when idling you need a way to let enough air into the engine to maintain an idle speed. The IAC, Idle Air Control valve is the way you do that and the engine computer controls the rate of air flow.
Sometimes it gets plugged up so you can clean it with a little carb cleaner. Might have to take it apart.
Also, you have a MAF, Mass Air Flow sensor that tells the computer how much air is flowing through the air cleaner intake at any time. The sensor gets coated with varnish and vies a false reading. Clean it gently with carb cleaner and a toothbrush.
Other than that, I would go to an auto parts store that can run a computer scan for free to see if you have any fault codes stored. They will tell you next stpes.

I assume you 2.0L SPI engine & not Zetec.

IDLE May be too Low

you could have a faulty Tps(throttle position sensor) this is located on the throttle body and has either a 4 wire plug or a 2 wire plug. I'm willing to bet that you need to replace this. the tps is responsible for your idle setting via the ecm(engine control moduel)...please rate this
